We provide links to all the App Store variants here: https://wotja.com/downloads/

Are you saying that the Microsoft Store link there does not work for you?
Correct, using Opera, I go to the URL with a download in the upper right side of the page, but nothing happens.
I've also tried Firefox.
I don't have a use for mobile at the moment...
I've had this issue before. It sucks but I don't have any time to spend on it.
I don't have Opera installed, but the download link is just a standard link to the Microsoft Store page on Wotja so I am not sure why it would not work in any browser. Anyhow, I tried it in Firefox (on Windows 11) and it worked fine, and as expected (the direct link being https://www.microsoft.com/store/apps/9N ... cid=imsite).

You say you have had the issue before, but don't say whether if that is a generic issue or not? I know this is probably a daft question, but can you open the Microsoft Store on your device? Assuming you can, then as was suggested by zzz00m above, just search for Wotja in it. Hth!

Hi! Sorry if we have not succeeded in making this clear and I guess we still have work to do in that regard :(.

The confusion arises because we try our hardest to let customers spend only what they need to, and to allow Wotja to be used either as 'creator' of generative music, or just as a 'player' (not everyone wants to create).

To do that we have FS (Feature Sets) and 3 different types of IAPs to unlock them, these types being to support different approaches to payment.

In addition, and for Apple only, we have lower cost [Mobile] IAP sub-options for those who only use Wotja on mobile. We know it would be simpler if we did not provide these, but those who have them would have to say if they truly value them or not.

Wotja FS (Feature Sets):
See: https://wotja.com/info/#fst
- 'Lite': is free and can be used for free by anyone.
- 'Play': is for those that want no timeouts when playing Schemas and Albums; it needs unlocking via IAP.
- 'Pro': is for those who want to do the max; it needs unlocking via IAP.

Wotja IAPs:
- PUN (Permanent Unlock of Feature Set):
This is intended as the functional equivalent of the old 'paid-for' variant where a single payment allows the version specific unlocking of the relevant FS, hence 'PUN: 23 Pro [All]'/'PUN: 23 Pro [Mobile]' and 'PUN: 23 Play [All]'/'PUN: 23 Play [Mobile]'. See: https://wotja.com/help/#pun
- SUB (Subscription):
This is a monthly auto renewing subscription and always unlocks the relevant FS, whatever the major version, hence 'SUB: Pro [All]'/'SUB: Pro [Mobile]' and 'SUB: Play [All]'/'SUB: Play [Mobile]'. See: https://wotja.com/help/#sub
- TJ (Tip Jar):
This is one-off tip and, dependent on tip, allows unlocking of 'Pro' or 'Play' FS on one device only. See: https://wotja.com/help/#tj

The upshot is that if you are only interested in the 'Pro' options, and you want to use Wotja on multiple devices, then you can whittle the above down to just 2 options:

'PUN: 23 Pro' or 'SUB: Pro'.

Which one you get depends on your preferences to payment and ownership!

I hope the above helps. We will continue to try to make this clearer.

Best wishes

Tim

So id you take SUB:Pro and keep it going you will always have the latest and greatest features.

And if you take PUN:23 Pro you will always be able to update Wotja but will only have the Wotja 23 features (and any bug fixes to those features). If, in 2 years time, you take a PUN:25 Pro licence you will get access to all the Wotja 24 and Wotja 25 features too (and any bug fixes)..

PS: What is an IAP? In_App Purchase?

Yes, correct, and it entitles you to support all the while you remain subscribed.
NB: Apple device users can choose either SUB: Pro [All] or SUB: Pro [Mobile].

Yes, correct. The later PUN unlocks _new_ features, capabilities and content that we might add to that later major version. AND, it entitles you to support during that calendar year. Mobile comment above still applies of course!

Yes, correct. Sorry I did not spell that out!

part of the problem here is the overuse of acronyms: FS, PUN, SUB, IAP.

if you want to be clear, drop the use of these terms in explanations aimed at newbies. once people are familiar with the concepts, you can use them as short-cuts. but until then, they just add to the confusion.

Sure, of course, but the reason we don't actually do that is because Apple have very restrictive character counts for IAP naming meaning we simply cannot not use the full terms in those. These IAP are also listed in the Apple App Store. It all meant that we had to settle on and use acronyms there, but explain then them in the App Store description text, in the In-App Store and also on our website.

And, whatever we have to do for Apple, we have to for the other 3 App Stores simply to keep consistency across them.

i didn't know there were such limitations in the app stores. that does make it more difficult.

regardless, i just know that when i was reading your descriptions here on the forum, i got lost in the sea of undefined acronyms.

just wanted to point that out in the hope that it may help.

good luck with the new strategy. :)

Indeed it does :(. All we ever try to do (believe it or not!) is to make things both as simple and clear as we can within the constraints that exist (i.e. App Store ones in this case). It is easy to do just one, but doing both is tough!

Sure, and thanks for the feedback on that. We appreciate all feedback as it helps us improve!

Thanks! The change is a tricky pivot because, even though everyone should benefit, it is hard to explain in words. We will keep working on that.

Thanks again for the feedback. All we want to get to is an approach that is clear, consistent, and does not confuse - and that is harder than anyone might think due to various App Store constraints!

We don't like changing terms/acronyms, but in the light of comments we are having think to see if we could maybe use a slightly different approach to improve 'grokability' of In-App Purchases. We may stay as we are, but if we do change any terms/acronyms etc. we promise now that there will be NO change to any capability - it would just be the terms/acronyms that change.

That said, Feature Sets (FS) are fundamental to Wotja so the FS acronym does have to stay!

hi tim,

i get it. it's a difficult product to summarize quickly. i'm not sure that it can be made much easier. i just got confused needing to constantly go back to check what everything meant, even though you DID define it. there is a lot to digest.

probably just me.

In our view if even one person finds something hard to grok it is not their fault, it is ours. And, we would therefore rather know that not. Words are the hardest things to get right it seems :(. I am forever re-writing stuff to try to improve clarity. Maybe I am just not that good with words, after all, I struggle hugely when it comes to lyrics!

Anyhow, I'm glad it is now clear but I do have some ideas and am working on them. We shall see if they "feel better" in testing. If not, then I guess they have to stay as they are!
