I watched the video, Mr Bartek is a funny guy. I watched some more older sound videos, too and wonder who uses a synth like this. The sound extensions sound the same, basically edm or disco and what is the cool thing about holding one key with a finger of left hand activating a drum beat, bass line and some chord progressions ??? They sound like something I heard a thousand times years ago and to use them would make me feel like stealing someone else's ideas.

60??? There's surely a kind of bonus system as usual depending on how many extensions you already have , maybe the 3 rd is 50, the 10th or more 30 / extension, otherwise...

we wish you a good start for 2023 and remember we still have xmas sale 33% into first week of January

Something new is brewing in the underworld: Techno 2 is here and it's meaner, harder and more brutal than ever! Explore 134 brand new dark Techno presets made by Andy Hinz for your VPS Avenger, containing devastating beats, roaring hoovers, exploding percussion hits, screaming 3O3s and piercing plucks, low warm subs, randomized modular patches and so much more powerful banging sounds for the next hits to come! Of course you want to use these sounds for EDM or Trance too, to spice up your tracks with unique "non-mainstream" sounds.

We love Italo Disco music, you can cleary hear that in vol. 1&2... so it was clear from the beginning, that there will be a another volume: Now its time for the 3rd round! Italo Disco, a long extincted genre from the 80s/90s is back with a vengeance! Manuel Schleis and Marcel Susenburger united a third time to revive these long forgotten sounds in the most authentic way: by using many of the original hardware, which had been used back in the days. There is no other Italo Disco collection on the market, reaching this level of love for details. It's all here, analog basslines, digital bells, powerful drums and toms, warm brasses and pads - and sequences which will immediately want you to dance. You know that you want this unique expansion pack! Get this time-travel ticket and cast a smile on your face.

get it now at vengeance-sound.com

Italo 3 is mediocre, you can tell it is a patchwork of previous versions, to be forgotten.

Similar opinion for Techno 2, nothing new here nor any sound that says Wow!!! that good, mediocrity and expensive.

Manuel, when are you seriously going to make version 2 of VPS and add 1000 really good sounds to this synth? at the end of the century?
I completely agree. Especially the last three expansions show that the creativity of dev has reached his limit. I counted 86 expansions, most of them very similar, I call it electronic music. What to expect next? Italo 4, 5, 6... Techno 4,5,6... I don't expect the dev to develop a Jazz expansion, although that would be very cool, afaik the dev was a house producer fifteen or more years ago, so that's the genre he knows best, but the expansions are pretty repetitive, when you have four or five you have them all more or less. I wish they would come with something one would not expect. Anyway Avenger was the least appealing synth to me first. I watched the videos and thought it all sounds similar and I don't want a workstation for a solo entertainer with one finger with left hand and solo part with right hand. Luckily I demoed it one day and it's a great synth, but I am a new user and recently didn't have much time to go deeper and the about fifteen presets I made myself unfortunately still sound rather electronic.

there is no "the dev". we have around 10 sound designers working for us. Each expansion is from a different designer. We already now cover more absolutely contrary and different genres than anyone I know. Ranging from Chillout to uber-hard Techno, from Cinematic to German Schlager. Currently I am working on a modular XP with randomized and generative AI music.
In multiple volumes with same genres, like Italo of course the demo will (and must) sound similar. However, all contained sounds differ completely. You wont find a single duplicate in any XP.
We wont make "Jazz" because we are a profit oriented company and very few would buy this. Furthermore that is no genre I am personally interested atm in recording sounds for. We make expansions and more volumes of XPs for two reasons: either where high demand ist (which we know according to feedback and sale numbers) or sometimes if we just like a genre very much personally, and it interests/challenges me/the designer to do sounds (like EuroDance90s XP, Dystopia XP, String Machines, 8Bit etc).

I dont know what you do wrong, when your presets sound "electronic". Avenger is capable of making such wonderful complex and analog sounding patches, that my entire 80s hardware-synth collection goes green with envy. Maybe I should do a video tutorial about this one day.

Great reply, Manuel.

I still don't know why you haven't done the biggest genre on earth - mainstream pop (Katy Perry, Taylor Swift, Ed Sheerin etc). Or for that matter, how about Dark Pop (Billy Eillish)? That would surely be huge.

But those specifics aside, I do wonder if targeting instruments alongside the dance stuff would be popular, continuing from guitars and string machines. Someone above said "what about brass". Of course you've done many brass patches now, but an entire XP of them could be fun, especially if you had some real brass recordings alongside all the many synthetic versions.

That also suggests another line of attack, together with your comments at the end. XPs that contained significant new acoustic samples, leaning towards a sampler library rather than a synth, could well be interesting. I'd imagine production costs would be higher though.

because thats basically just covered with our "EDM" packs. Strangely, every XP with a "pop" in the name, (e.g. Nexus) performs under average.

definately, we will continue to expand in real instruments. In most XPs (Italo Disco for example or Dystopia) are already many many new multiloop guitar kits, which were quite a lot of work to record. The new Cinematic Loops 2 will also contain new real instruments, such as a choir I recorded etc. Many new male and female vocal hooks will be available in the upcoming Melodic Techno 4 (which are gorgeous btw)
But I am not a fan of "type of sound" xps. A whole XP full of only brasses again and again would bore me as a designer, as well as the customer. If you want to have many brasses as a preset selection, just use our search system, to filter out all brasses, pianos, choirs or effects you have installed.

big multisampled acoustic libraries with round robin etc... are more the speciality of Nexus, instead of Avenger. The CPU demand would just be much higher as in Nexus. And the whole architecture is better to design in Nexus for this task.

Thanks Manuel.

On pop, I definitely see a distinction between EDM and them. Guitars feature more (esp acoustic), no supersaws etc etc. Pop seems to be a "you can use this xp for pop too" afterthought. I seem to remember the Nexus Pop expansions were weak and quite old. If you had a Hot100 range and a Dark Pop range made to today's standards, I find it hard to believe they wouldn't sell.

I never meant to say that expansions sound exact the same, but a lot of them too similar to make me buy more.
I have Italo Disco 2 and even like the sounds, although I don't like the genre at all. I am not tempted to buy Italo Disco 1 or 3, though. Because of the many similarities there's no surprise, there's no wow effect anymore imo. I knew what Italo Disco 3 would sound like, even before I watched the demo video. Same with techno or whatever. There is no doubt that the quality is good each time.
To me it's all electronic music of 1990s and 00s.
