any more suggestions err...?
If you're on a PC, how about using Bidule with Subtek CMX844 (a free mixer VST plugin)? :)
I have that one loaded as part of my default layout in Bidule.

Also, as to the eternal beta... similar to the AudioMulch sales strategy, you can now buy a beta licence for Bidule which will keep the beta version from expiring on you. The licence also gives you "Bidule Lite v1.0" (whatever that means) when development is finally finished.

Did you know that Bidule can do offline rendering without the soundcard? 8)

I guess you'd see some option for it in the place where you choose which soundcard output to use for an output bus, eh?
Don't see anything like that.
Yep! You are correct – but I found that it wont let me set the card I want – only what it wants (happens if sample rate differs) load up time is long plus memory use is high. I also found midi learn forgets if you move off of a panel – plus it pulses the cpu slightly (in task manager)

Though it does look attractive – I think I will give it a miss.

No – actually this is one host I have yet to explore, I will check it out later. :)

**Pretty** stable? Do you remember which VSTs crash it?

No but I'd imagine it would be the same one's that crash any other host. The last crash I remember was with Absynth 2 DXi. But I'm not sure it was Absynth v2.0.4.0. It was with four instances. But it crashed other hosts also. I mostly use it with four of five instances of Kontakt with orchestral samples. Even though it supports multiple audio outputs you only get one buss per instrument.
