Err well, apart from it being just some accidental noodling, Jeff's original was just played without a click, so any further lining up wasn't exactly possible.

Finally got a chance to play with this: great stuff! Used to play this model in my high school jazz band. Now all I gotta do is route it through some cheap guitar stomp boxes to recapture that mid-80's nostalgia... :hihi:

Thanks for sharing.

great Rhodes Jeff, thanks! :)

In fact, I did my December KvR contest entry with it last night:

Bleak Night

Kinda obscured in the vinyl grunge, though... ;) But the important part is that it inspired me to play, which is the best feature you can find! 8)

Thanks for sharing your music!

Mark, glad I could help to inspire you to something so ... bleak. ;)

Rony, I really like that flute, what is that? And the piano, is that jStereoPiano? It sounds great, perfect for this piece. But it sounds more woody and natural sounding than I'd expect for jStereoPiano. I certainly didn't recognize it.

BTW, folks -- Guido of soundfonts.it will soon be updating MrRay based on what he learned from my soundfont, and I think it's a big improvement!

Wow! Jeff, you've got some talent in this area!

The flute is a Vlm path named 'Inka flute'
And yes it is jStereoPiano, with tweeking of me, EQ, Reverb a bit of chorus,... :)

Thanks, David, though mostly it's just attention to details and being consistent. That and lots of RAM!

Now that I have my software set up to make it easy, I hope to make some other soundfonts. Perhaps Martin HD-28, but I'll need a better mike first. Also, I'll have to download all the acoustic guitar fonts I can find to see if there's a need, like there was for Rhodes. I'll post back asking for pointers before I start that, which won't happen before February.

Too bad I don't have any other electric pianos to sample!

There is definite need, Jeff!

Yes, all sf2 acoustic guitars out there plain suck. :(

Oooh, sampling guitars... Now that is a challenge... They're such expressive instruments!

:o

This soundfount is truly incredible. I've been looking for the perfect Rhodes for a couple of years now (read: most of the time that I've been doing this music thing), and I can honestly say that I don't need to look anywhere else. I don't have a "real" Rhodes to compare it to, so I'm no expert, but this is the most playable, expressive, and just plain great sounding Rhodes that I've ever heard.

Thanks you so much, Jeff!

Jeff,

I'd like to see you try your hand at a wurlie. Like the rhodes, I have yet to find a wurlie sample-set that I am completely happy with. The electro-mechnical refill for reason has a good one, but I want one with a little more sustain and some dirt.

I don't think you have a wurlie, I'm just venting.

WAAAAAAUUUUWWWW, COOL!

T H A N K Y O U!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is a very inspiring soundset you made.
Very musical and with character. Beautifully sampled, just perfect. Add some phasing and reverb and this is THE Rhodes!
