i get obscure instruments not being sampled...but every time a ME pack comes out - which is deep sampled - i dont understand why the mijwiz is skipped? i cant think of much else that screams middle east like it...

But I don't think even this sampled one will have anything like the depth or realism that you are looking for.

unfortunately the taqs.im one is hopeless. their offering is incredibly static in general :/
the concept of their product is great - i just wish it was more...

If you want to sample it, go for it. There were also no kora samples and no tagelharpas until just a few years ago, and it's still not hard to run across a traditional instrument nobody's sampled yet. Ever buree, for example.

Karoryfer is definitely doing sterling work in bringing deeper sampled, life-like, under-represented instruments to the world. I'm looking forwards ro whatever comes next.
