FYI: mfxConvert by Audeonic is Apple and Logic compatible and will convert notes and all sorts of stuff to all sorts of stuff, so it would enable any key to start and stop the main transport in UVI Workstation libraries.
https://audeonic.com/mfx/
I'd probably pick up Percussion Factory if I just didn't already have too much in the way of drum and percussion libraries. I do own UVI's Asteroid, and although it doesn't have the cool euclidean stuff, it is a very good all around percussion library with a very adequate sequencer.

I sure wish I could get an answer to these questions:
1. Is MIDI output from the plugin so you can record it?
2. Are user samples saved with a preset?
3. Can you alter the filter and other editing parameters on user samples like you can for onboard samples?
4. I never heard the term euclidean - is that the way the circular sequencers work if you start with one and intensify or start with all steps and decimate?
5. And perhaps a stupider question: Do the rotational sequencers represent the same data as the horizontal step sequencers or is it one or the other?

not a UVI rep, but I did buy the product so will answer to the best of my ability:kvrmao wrote: Tue Feb 28, 2023 6:13 pm I sure wish I could get an answer to these questions:

1. I have not found a way to do this, unfortunately.
2. Not tried, but assume so - EDIT: per danielh02 perhaps not.

4. Essentially. The rotating patterns that can be of different lengths is a basic concept of Euclidean.
5. Yes. Unfortunately the patterns are governed and edited by the step sequence screen and not from the main screen where the patterns are represented.
I do like the plugin. Not a fan of UVI Workstation which is required to host this plugin, I've been looking for a good way to quickly create and modify percussion and this plugin gets it done. The UI could have been a little more intuitive but it's not horrible.
My main issue is that you can't load a sequence multiple patterns or export MIDI, so if you want pattern changes, your best bet will probably be to record as Audio into the DAW and arrange from there. Huge oversight IMO - hopefully they will release an update that allows this.
But so far as dealing with rapid creation of percussion patterns, this this is the best I've seen so far. And the number of instruments and articulations is really comprehensive. I'm a fan.

I wasn't aware of the preset issue, but I'm 100% agreed that these are huge oversights.danielh02 wrote: Sat Feb 25, 2023 9:41 pmYeah, while this is a great sounding library, I think there's some misses.kvrmao wrote: Sat Feb 25, 2023 9:18 pm Right... of course you can - not sure what I was thinking there. So that means that you can sequence the percussion with an external sequencer. And you you can trigger the instrument sequences that you program with an external keyboard or controller. But as far as exporting the sequences created with the plugin... probably not.
- No drag/drop MIDI to DAW (not really expected with Falcon)
- No saving of presets
- You should be able to store pattern variations in keys D1 through B1
I still bought it, but I hope they continue to expand the functionality.

Just to be clear - you can certainly save it as a Falcon program within the Falcon ecosystem. You just can't save it as preset within the Percussion Factory library itself (like you could do with a Kontakt library).billinder33 wrote: Tue Feb 28, 2023 6:34 pmI wasn't aware of the preset issue, but I'm 100% agreed that these are huge oversights.danielh02 wrote: Sat Feb 25, 2023 9:41 pmYeah, while this is a great sounding library, I think there's some misses.kvrmao wrote: Sat Feb 25, 2023 9:18 pm Right... of course you can - not sure what I was thinking there. On page 8 of the pdf:danielh02 wrote: Tue Feb 28, 2023 10:30 pm Just to be clear - you can certainly save it as a Falcon program within the Falcon ecosystem. You just can't save it as preset within the Percussion Factory library itself (like you could do with a Kontakt library). -Dan
Sequence Editor
Sequence Commands
• Save - Click to save a new preset
• Load - Click to load a user preset
Now I don't know if this saved preset includes the sample selection and its settings... as well as user samples, their directory location and settings. Someone will have to chime in about that.
As far as being able to do it in Falcon - there's tons more you can do with Falcon, but let's talk about what you can do without. All the UVI libraries I own allow me to save custom presets, so I figured this would be no exception but I still have questions.
I don't know what is going on with this otherwise great company - there are so many questions they could answer on the website or the PDF and they prefer to be "mysterious." That's not a good biz plan, in my book.

Good news everyone (Yes, you can use the Professor's voice)
We have released Percusion Factory 1.1 that includes a MIDI export in the edit page.
Some disclaimer:
- MIDI will need to exported again if you change the tempo or sounds if AutoAlign is enabled
- There is some pre-loop material in order to have the events that should be started in advance
Some answers from the thread.
- You can alter user samples with the filter.
- User samples are saved in the preset as references
- You can of course save preset as regular uviworkstation or Falcon presets.
Enjoy !

Can you tell me more about this? I don't own Falcon, so completely ignorant on this. Is it similar how you can import Stylus and Trillion into Omnisphere?danielh02 wrote: Tue Feb 28, 2023 10:30 pm Just to be clear - you can certainly save it as a Falcon program within the Falcon ecosystem. What happens to all the edibility of Percussion Factory when running it in Falcon?

Great. I figured you guys were on this. Just to be clear, you can alter user samples in exactly the same fashion as the onboard samples, all the same parameters?otristan wrote: Wed Mar 01, 2023 4:29 pm Good news everyone (Yes, you can use the Professor's voice)

FYI: It is nice to have the midi export, but the update doesn't fix the massive cpu spike on triggering the sequences inside the plugin. And that is core functionality.
