Server is being dead. Can't wait to upgrade!
Larger UI and better preset management was what I wanted :)

I demoed and i must say it doesnt have the depth that Legend, Diva, Monark or UAD Minimoog (that one imo is the king) has. Gives me a sound of VA from the late 2000's. Not impressed at all.

I've owned original minimoogs since 1982 and have one here with both the old and new oscillator boards. So far the most realistic sounding emulation I've heard is the Softube one which sounds to me like it uses the old oscillator board (good!). I can't get into GForce to try the new demo but once I do I will let you know my opinion.

The Moog one is the best by far for me

Their site has been dead for three straight hours: every attempt to login either hangs / times out / loads a different error page.
They may be a popular company, but c'mon, they can't be getting hit *that* hard. Their site is a bit of a joke, tbh.

is it a seperate DLL or will it replace v1?

There is, resonance response is different.
There is NO difference at all , it’s clearly a bug .

I dont have The Legend or the UAD.

I got Minimonsta2 running. Sounds good to me. Has the essential essence of a minimoog. I don't get so picky about it frankly, as some of you. Its nice to have all the bells and whistles that GF added too. The Softube mini still sounds more like a real mini. But the GF Mini2 sounds good too. Great even. Nice addition to the mini emus out there. My expectations are not for an exact sonic recreation because frankly I dont think it's possible. For my uses GF mini2 will be good and I'll upgrade my mini1.

In some cases I find with leads on mini2 that the sound also takes on a bit of an Arp Odessy character which is not a bad thing.

Separate on macPOS.

Well, with Monark and Legend, I really wasn't in the market for yet another, especially if they don't get the overdrive right. It's nice they're still developing their old plugins, but it seems a bit too little too late.

Not today, I guess. It's like being in line for Disneyland but I get to sit down and there's no rides at the end.
Surely there must be consensus by now...

It depends on what you are after. All the minimoog emulations out there offer something different in terms of sound and features. It wouldnt unreasonable to own and use many or all of the emulations for their own unique character. Aferall evey minimoog sounds and operates different as well. At one point I had 3 original minimoogs: one with the old board, one with the new and one because it just had this power the others didnt. But if you are just after one ultimate minimoog emulation, you wont find it because there is no one ultimate minimoog.

Sure, but eventually you have to draw a line and say, "enough." I forgot I also have the Softube one, Arturia and cloned Model D oscillators and filter in my Studio Electronics ATC-X. I'm pretty set with Moog type sounds, unless you're really bringing something very new to the table. I'll check it out when the servers cool down (really GForce? Get a better provider!) but I'm not super excited about yet another Minimoog emulation. Minimonsta was my first, btw. I thought it was a lot better than Minimoog V. That's another point, I'm sure Arturia is working on a revamped Mini V, and I'll ultimately upgrade to the latest V Collection.
