Yeah. Um, surprising. The one thing guaranteed to send KVR stratospheric aside from bad DRM is "no demos". But the reason seems obvious to me - it's an additional piracy risk. Sad, but them pirates spoil it for the majority.

Manuel, sorry to ask again but could use the clarity to add it to the 2.0 thread - the new ARP will be based around a piano roll?

Huh, interesting!

Is Avenger becoming a bit of a DAW?

So anyone who want to try should do it now, even if the demoversion is so old, that it hardly has anything to do with the newest 1.8.5 or especially the upcoming 2.0
Thanks for telling us, that's enough for me to not buy. Uninstalled and looking elsewhere.

This sounds like you'll be back when Avenger version 2 comes out which will be Top Notch! What I bet you BBFG, that you will buy it, simply because VPS is irresistible, if not the best, one of the best 3 virtual synthesizers on the market today and for a long time to come. 8)

Hello
I completely disagree with some posts here holding the opinion Avenger is not versatile soundwise or limited to club music only. Imo it can cover almost every music style. The factory sounds and the big choice of top notch expansions give you a huge choice to create sounds for a lot of styles. The modulation potential is the best I know.
Avenger's most outstanding features for me are
sound quality, macro assignments, modenv, fm, quality of effects and the huge modulation potential for expressive and creative sound design. You can create any sound you want and as to in the face sounds Avenger is unmatched and can sound as analog as real analog synths.
I made a video with sound examples of Funkomanic presets to show a different side of Avenger and different music style different from what you are used to.

Doubt it. Once I get a certain vibe from a developer, it doesn't matter.
So please just move the thread on without me.

I'm not sure that the demo version is redundant. In my case after demoing for the 2nd time I was finally surpassed by its quality that I bought it (even without sale 😊)

No demo is always a very bad sign. Why would someone buy it without knowing if at all or how performant it runs on their system? Especially after its & the devs history...

A lot of people have the misconception that Avenger is geared towards ( I should say not geared, but solely) EDM/Electronic but that is far from the truth. I don't understand why people say that. It's like people saying Spire sounds bad and then people believe that and not go listen for themselves. In life, you realize that your intuition is usually (if not always) more important than someones opinion because something may bring you to something and you don't know why but it's good for you; and something may be good for you and not for the other person for individualistic reasons.

Same thing goes for the Expansion Packs, and yes, just so I don't assume I searched the forum to see if there are any complaints about the price on the Expansions. Lo and behold I was correct, a complaint found in two seconds about the price. I guess they don't understand the complexity and sheer amount of sounds that go into one patch.

Falcon doesn't have a demo. Then again, not sure how their business is doing now that FL is now their father. I think a demo is good, but it may be BAD as far as money making for the company- why? Because I would of bought Msoundfactory if there was no demo, so I tried the demo and it was the most unfun I have ever had with a synth. So, there are trade offs.

Post

It's hard to argue that Avenger isn't geared towards EDM and other subgenres, like a lot of competitors like Dune Spire or Serum. Or there isn't any synth geared towards EDM.
They won't turn away customers willing to use it for something else -and it can- but that's pretty much it.

I think it's really because of the XPs. Yes there are other genres, but I'd guesstimate 3/4 are some flavour of EDM. Every time there's a new release, I guess it feels to a lot of people like "oh, EDM again, that's what Avenger does".

They all are pretty much "geared" towards edm, I also said solely, which should be revised to- my impression- "they (people who think Avenger is one-sided) believe that the synth (xps and/or) should only be considered by edm enthusiasts. That take should probably hit the mark. That should be efficient. I guess the main point is, I want to empower people to suspend judgment about most things synths and to follow their gut and do their own research.

Avenger is capable of making such wonderful complex and analog sounding patches, that my entire 80s hardware-synth collection goes green with envy. Maybe I should do a video tutorial about this one day.
Hi Manuel I really hope you will make this video soon because it would be very interesting ..

and the expansion you are working on must be very interesting "modular XP" which I imagine will come out for avenger 2.0

i hope avenger 2.0 will come out soon at least before summer.
