For Delays, Qu Bit Nautilus seems to be beauty. It looks gorgeous :) Unfortunately beyond my price limit for a single module.
I know that in that price range there's more cool delays but this one has the best panel :D

IMNSHO, this is THE swiss army knife to have. It has a decent reverb, a looper, some multi-fx, and a very usable polyphonic multi-sampler.
Disting is really interesting but i would personally go for a MkiV, i guess.
This puppy is already 400 euro and it kinda begs for extra controls which will pump up the price.
And a multi-sampler? I don ' know. A groovebox has you making tunes a lot faster and easier. Do we need modular for this? For me it s about combining stuff that you can t in other ways, i guess.

Just a few personal opinions from a modular newbie.

I hear you. So, what would be some suggestions?
Boss RV 5 or 6? TC Hall of fame?
I went with GFI Skylar for "transparent" airy reverbs but it costs more (only 4 reverbs but I don't regret it at all).
I think that you can't go wrong with Boss and Hall of Fame is liked by many. HOF demos never convinced me completely to buy it.

One interesting option is Digitech Polara because it has legit Lexicon algorithms. For me Polara is cleaner than HoF. Unfortunately it's available only 2nd hand (it wasn't available around when I was searching for reverb). You can find comparisons between HoF and Polara on YT. Fortunately there's plenty of YT videos with synths, not only guitars :)

Neunaber Immerse Reverberator 2 gather my interest recently. It seems to be great sounding reverb with plenty of modes and more than just basic reverb parameters.

Also check out comparison of Boss and cheap Behringer pedal below. Maybe you'll find the latter good enough. It's crazy cheap for stereo pedal.
I'm using this Behringer pedal but just as a aux gate reverb for drum machine. tbh I never tried anything besides gate and room modes hehe.

There's plenty of interesting reverb pedals but most of them is mono. What a waste!

The cheapo Behringer didn t do it for me but that Neunaber Immerse Reverberator 2 sounds really nice and ambienty.

It's ok, it's not the worst, and I'm still going to buy the Borg filter at some point. I'm just cautious, for example, of demo or used items.

I've updated the B.Roland system to replace the TipTop FX module with a Disting MK4 and the cheap passive mixer with an intelijel triple attenuverter/mixer. I think that this makes it much more flexible. Sticking with Brains though, sorry, I think that it's a good choice for most people. Being able to just stick a USB cable in front to upload sysex for FM, as well as being able to use it as a scope, to me, gives it a clear edge over a standard plaits clone. The price goes up a bit for the difference between the Intellijel mixer and the passive mixer; it's worth it IMO.

Imho, this is a very very nice system for the money.

if i get time later, ill do similar with the sem and polivoks.
see if i can get some prism somewhere too. :)

rack reverbs, i have erbe verb and clouds, not so much "basic rooms" and more spacey i guess, but i can maybe do a little of those too

pedals, check out meris, their reverb is lovely (again more on the spacey side)

I d love to see a comparison between the borg and the polivoks, as they both have that nasty character that i love, and pretty similar.
As i understand it the polivoks is more difficult to manage ?

it is quite screamy, in a lovely way, but a very different character imo, doesn't have the dual filter.
im not sure it's difficult to manage, but that could be the build, compared to an original polivoks maybe? i don't have experience of those.
ill add borg vs poli to the list 8)

With difficult to manage i mean, the filter goes into over the top territory faster, and at the highest setting it s just too much. Well, let s just hear it. :D

ah, in that case, yeah the scream can be awesome :hihi:

ill go full range :D

It is, and it feels much less precise. It feels like using an old Roland System 100 (not 100m) to me. Like it's an old imprecise design that just has a couple of tricks. Don't get me wrong, you can't have mine!

I'm going to sound like a stuck record, but I like the Steiner Parker quite a bit for aggressive resonance sounds. I'm stuck a bit in work this weekend and most of my modular is disassembled waiting for the bits for the big case to arrive. I'll try and post some demos in a few weeks when things are a bit more organized.

I really like the 960, but then, I like this kind of hands on "there's risk involved" kind of jamming. It's paired with plaits in this video but you could, obviously, do the same thing with brains.

@ghettosynth.
I think you live like 20 km from me. I m coming to kill you. :D You are an attack on my wallet.

150 euro is actually very cheapo.

quick little screamer.
borg vs poli.
its the malekko borg and erica polivoks :)
:ud:

Thx Vurt. Pretty freaky sequence.
Bit difficult to assess the character as you are in extreme territory most of the time.
How about a more melodic sequence with a filter sweep.
(But i already have a good idea about the polivoks character from youtube videos. It s a your discretion if you want to put in the time.)
