I installed the demo and found out it is an outdated version with a copy protection that was previously announced it had been removed. Asked here and was answered that the developer wasn't going to follow through with that promise or updating, and in fact was just going to remove it forever. Some have commented that this concerns them as well. So for us to express this means that a comment that "no one cares" is senseless.
I am feeling like I may have got lucky since the developer tipped their cards before I bought into it. So for that, I thanked him. The last few pages of back and forth from others have just helped me confirm that. So I thank those people as well.
Still looking for the plugin to fill the particular niche though. Maybe others that have been told to "move on" have their suggestions...

But you made your choice not to buy Avenger... so why staying there?BBFG# wrote: Sun Mar 05, 2023 12:29 am I installed the demo and found out it is an outdated version with a copy protection that was previously announced it had been removed. I do agree with some of your points but what is the use to make them at length here?
It is like going to ableton users forum and ask them to help understand why bitwig is better... it is pointless and pure trolling.
So... MOVE ON!

So again, I know people have a tendancy to react more to negativity but 2 questions were asked: one about the capacity to transfer the licence and I was curious if how synth is used against other versatile synths like Pigments or phase plant... Anyone?

Frequency modulate almost anything. It isn't like other products where there's an FM section and a VA section and a granular section all separated from one another. All of this stuff is integrated. You can frequency modulate your samples with wavetables and then run the entire thing through a tracking comb filter- per some other guy. Not sure what other synths doing this. Hope others can shed some light on this.Jac459 wrote: Sun Mar 05, 2023 3:36 am So again, I know people have a tendancy to react more to negativity but 2 questions were asked: one about the capacity to transfer the licence and I was curious if how synth is used against other versatile synths like Pigments or phase plant... this is a good synth, i bought it secondhand years ago. That time the demo was up to date, nowadays not.
Imho its similar to omnisphere in that regard that it contains many ready made high quality sounds. of course it has better visualization than omni. the protection of the software is simple to me, for example i would avoid ILOK plugins like UAD Minimoog or UVI Falcon. So the protection of Avenger is Similar to the one of Omnisphere - one more common thing.
If you don't want to buy it from the developer, you can buy it secondhand. Its a nice piece of software, and even if it become NFS, it is worth it.

Thanks, yes I don't intend to buy it for synthesis, I love too much phase plant and Twin 3 for that, I don't see myself learning new synths. But in order to get new sounds, it seems a good choice...
By the way I have seen also a second hand UVI Falcon on this forum, what is the problem with iLok ? Do I need to be always connected on the internet ????

Whoever developed Avenger, I suppose it isnot the soundmaker and features and sound presenter Mr Schleis, created a beast, a monster that makes most other synths look pretty weak. Thought would demo it for 15 minutes only , just an edm and solo entertainment ufta ufta synth, but I played with the full version about 3 hours yesterday and could compare it to every other synth my pal has.
It's so powerful and I just tried presets, my pal just showed me four modulation things. The last 3 synths I directly compared it to were Phase Plant, Massive X and Pigments. Compared to Avenger they sound like from cheap speakers of a small portable radio, weak, dull and lifeless. I didn't expect Avenger to be so good, I mean to say I have the last synth you will ever need sounds a little arrogant first.
Other devs can be glad that Avenger people are not clever enough to promote the synth effectively, so mostly edm people will pay attention to it. I know 4 more people who consider Avenger just an ufta ufta synth, never even tempted to demo it.
To say all other synths are also presented as edm synths is a weak excuse, is it really what the last synth you will ever need pretends to be, to be just like all other synths?
My first impression is that this synth is an allrounder, maybe even for genres that don't exist yet.
With some clever promotion Avenger might really get the only synth people will have, it just sounds better than most other synths and seems to have a lot of modulation applications. Whoever is the mind behind the synth, my good piece of advice is find some people who know to present the product in a better way, in a way that more people will be attracted.
I will demo it once again and won't buy it until I will have re-sold some synths I have, that I didn't like that much any more yesterday.

Wow what a complete turn around (my foreign minister would say a 360 degree move)...Leo1999 wrote: Sun Mar 05, 2023 5:45 am Whoever developed Avenger, I suppose it isnot the soundmaker and features and sound presenter Mr Schleis, created a beast, a monster that makes most other synths look pretty weak. Why don´t you think there would be to little attention for Avenger and they would need to present it better??
How many kvr threads about a single product have you seen that have reached (currently) 957 pages??
I would say they are doing very well...

To be fair, I would agree with him that it is not that present in global marketing. Saying KVR loves it isn't quite the same as saying it is huge.Trancit wrote: Sun Mar 05, 2023 11:39 am

My take.
I watched quite an number of influencer videos before buying. I thought it might be useful. I was more impressed with the additional soundsets than the factory supplied one.
I played with it. Ran just fine, everything worked.
Sometimes you try something and feel the vibe right away. Other times you are asking is this applicable to where I want to go musically.
I think it's fine, I think the sound sets are fine and yet I somehow feel cheated by having to buy all the ones that I have only possible interest in using after I've purchased the product to host them in.
Meanwhile I was also demoing KLC Triton. Loved it but hated the limited time testing and then reloading.
Bought Triton and everyday I'm in love with Triton/Triton Extreme.
Conclusion. Avenger was not for me. Triton was.
Maybe Avenger isn't for you and maybe it is. That's why there is trialware. Either you are feeling it for you when you are going through the presets.

Avenger question: In the "roadmap" of Avenger someday it would be good to see some text to speech solution, like the one in Fl Studio (or the one in Vital, but without internet access).
Is it only my silly idea or others would also like this?

The sound quality impressed me more than any other synth before. I have a 3 hours experience and could compare Avenger directly to many other synths and my pal made some cool presets, so I think it's a great sound design synth, too. And I don't even know all the features, modulation and effects in detail, there seem to be a lot you can do.
I don't know whether Avenger is doing well as for sales numbers, that's not my point.
I am obviously not the only one who thought or thinks Avenger is limited to edm only or an edm solo entertainer synth.
I knew the videos - vengeance and Bartek - before I demoed Avenger yesterday. I was never tempted to demo it.
Mr. Schleis could post a hundred times that the expansion are not limited to edm only, but the videos have obviously created a different one-sided image. The videos don't show its full potential and versatility.
If the customer target is edm producers (house, techno, etc.), then the videos are top notch.
I also watched some tutorials of Mr. Schleis today and no doubt he is talented, he obviously loves and knows the product, he is a great sound designer and I like the way he makes his tutorials.
So all I could tell someone who wants to add a softsynth to his plugins and who is not into edm primarily, demo Avenger, it seems more versatile as one might think first and the most important thing is that it sounds amazingly great. Versatile means that I think that it has a lot of options to shape the sound, I only moved the fm knob and the 2 knobs next to it and got a wow effect and the reverb, omg the reverb sounds dope and versatile also means I don't think it's a synth for edm only any more, just demo it and find out yourself.

Great feedback! Are the effects usable standalone ? (Like serum for example)
