This sounds ridiculously good.
It sounds exactly like Cherry Audio Miniverse if you turn off the reverb, delay, unison, and unison spread in Minimonsta2.

Turn those on again, and yes the presets are ridiculously good. But that is cheating...

dune_rave wrote: Fri Mar 03, 2023 5:08 am Thanks for the comments. Maybe that's the case I got minimonsta v1 in a gforce promotion. Anyway, they have sent their newsletter email to me, and they wrote i'm eligible for the special price update as an owner of minimonsta1. So if i'm not eligible, they have sent a false email to me.
Have you emailed them? I had a similar issue so they sent me a code for the MM1 upgrade price.
Yep, I have created a technical support ticket about this.
I'm fairly confident you'll get a favourable reply in under 24 hours (weekend excluded maybe).

The GUI is on the shiny side. Especially the « silver » knob caps which are white, I can’t see the white point to know what the setting is :-(

Yeah I can’t say I love how shiny the knobs are. It could be toned down.

I ended up picking this up as it was a cheap upgrade. I do like the sound even though there are definitely some issues with clipping and aliasing at times.

Anyone know if the filter toggle not doing anything has been confirmed as a bug?

I tried it, and it works as expected for me (Mac AU). The effect is somewhat subtle though, perhaps more subtle than you might expect. Dial up something super heavy bass wise with the filter quite closed, and resonance off, then turn up the resonance until maybe 60% and you'll hear the bass drop off noticeably. Flip the filter type switch, and some (not all) of that missing bass comes back. The change in sound is easy enough to hear as you flip the filter type switch back and forth.

I think most people that assume it's not working are not using it in the context of not losing that bass end when you crank up the resonance, and just flipping the switch expecting the filter to sound very different - that's not the point of it.

Apologies if this has been addressed already but why on earth have they gotten rid of the morphing feature? This is one of the main reasons I still use it often. I cannot see a reason why they would junk it.

That's the same response I got from support when asked about the filter setting .
The demo has also run out on my system but I remember trying the Moonweed preset and the difference was almost non existent .
It surely is NOT compensating for bass , which is what the filter 2 symbol graph clearly indicates .

I heard a pronounced effect using the settings you posted earlier, except with resonance at 6 instead of all the way up. However, once I turned it up to 7 or down to 3, the difference was gone.

The Prophet-5 Rev 4 hardware added some filter compensation in the latest firmware, and depending on the settings it goes from "oh, ok, there's maybe a bit more bass" to "no difference at all". I've yet to hear it make a huge difference and just set it back to the default.

A bit disappointed by the GUI, those silver shining knobs are distracting, values are difficult to read, resizing feels not very smooth. All in all looks a bit trashy to be honest.

Maybe next tim ask U-he how to make a great fully resizable, readable GUI.

Post

So is the filter compensation still not working out quite right?

I tried the demo last week but clearly both modes are exactly the same.

Any updates?

Post

There hasn't been any updates, either they're hoping we stop bothering them about it, or just silently working on fixing it.

I hope for the latter.
