IIrc correctly the maximum zoom level and nudging of clips on the timeline is defined by the timebase ppq .
You find it under project settings

PPQ is Pulses Per Quarter Note: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pulses_per_quarter_note
In FL Studio online manual: https://www.image-line.com/fl-studio-le ... ttings.htm
The idea would be:
1/1 = PPQ * 4
1/2nd = PPQ * 2
1/4th = PPQ
1/8th = PPQ / 2
1/16th = PPQ / 4
1/32nd = PPQ / 8
1/64th = PPQ / 16
1/128th = PPQ / 32
So for example if your project PPQ in FL Studio is 96, a "step" equivalent to 1/16th should have duration of 24 pulses.
In 4/4 time, at 96PPQ, one bar should be 4x96=384 pulses; therefore, at 96PPQ, the placement precision of elements in FL Studio Playlist (and notes in Pianoroll) would be a "1/384th" note.
Feel free to check my math, validity not guaranteed
As for PPQ relation to pixels when zooming, it depends on scaling settings in OS and FL Studio. Someone better at math better do that one, heh.

But keep always in mind that the whole system in FLS is based on the PPQ setting...
This means the higher you set the PPQ the more CPU it uses because the whole engine precision is raised... and I don´t mean 1 or 2% but 10 or 20% more CPU usage!!
So choose your settings wisely!

You cannot set directly a 1/512th grid in FL Studio but just set the PPQ high enough to reach that precision...
As N__K already has calculated for you that a PPQ of 96 equals to a precision of 1/384th note, so you do not need to raise it much more...
a PPQ of 120 would give you a maximum precision of 1/480th note
a PPQ of 144 gives you 1/576th...
but again you cannot set such a grid directly...
Anyway... these settings are absolutely fine (up to 192) as they are definetely not noticeable in CPU consumption compared to the standard 96 value...

Thanks Trancit! So with higher PPQ FL Studio will be able to play those notes. But you can't really program/write them since no grid to snap them to, as I understand.

That´s right...
The finest straight grid you can choose in FLS is a 64th note (1/4th step = 1/4th of a 16th note)...
Other than that you have just "None" which actually "snaps" to the current PPQ setting but imho no way to create 1/512th notes snap to the grid without heavy counting yourself...
