I've never tried theses plugins but I wanted one, so I go and try and download one and the download page throws up a huge Malwarebytes warning. Come again?

Interesting. I installed a demo UVI product and afterwards my computer threw a fit, but it usually tells me why. I did uninstall it because I didn't really like the sounds and I already have better things that can do the same. I think it had something to do with the Edge browser, so maybe hyperlinks?

Reported by someone at the Image-Line forums:osiris wrote: Sun Mar 05, 2023 10:08 pm Interesting. I installed a demo UVI product and afterwards my computer threw a fit, but it usually tells me why. "I have just purchased the UVI Powerbundle, the special on offer here. While downloading and installing the included plugins/soundwares, I noticed it is also UPLOADING a significant amount of data.
At first I was a bit alarmed to see one of the biggest streams went to Kaliningrad, Russia. But then I noticed significant streams are going all around the globe to places, like Netherlands, Brasil...
Is the portal in fact a torrent downloader which also acts as torrent uploader??

The DRM used by some plugins are suspect to virus scans- i know mcaffe is really bad at that. Ive had to put several on the scan exclusion list.osiris wrote: Sun Mar 05, 2023 4:58 pm I've never tried theses plugins but I wanted one, so I go and try and download one and the download page throws up a huge Malwarebytes warning. However, i am not familiar with that one ...

I make open source and don't have any DRM, but I've seen a plugin that was like 200k in size trip a virus scan that claimed it was a malicious payload about 10 megs in size… my stuff is zipped up on a Mac, and I make signed versions available for modern Macs that run Gatekeeper.
Pretty sure Apple would spot problems if I sent them malware, seeing as I have to send them all the binaries to be signed and it takes them many minutes to go through all of 'em.
Also, there's no download page, just links at the top left, and the same links at the bottom of plugin posts, and a Mediafire mirror. If you have found a site that claims to be the 'download page' and not just lots of individual plugin posts, that's not my site in the first place
