Ableton 11 - Best way for panning stereo groups

So if I understand correctly, in Ableton if you group tracks, and then pan the group, it will merely cut off what you here in the left/right channel, rather than change where the summed left right channel is.

For example, if I make a track with a delay, the dry is 100% right and the wet is 100% left, if I pan this in a group, it would merely lower the delay volume, but I would like it to move more in the right channel instead. F
Is this doable with a workaround that still uses groups? Or maybe this isn't actually as useful as I think it is?

Right click on the pan knob and click "Select Split Stereo Pan Mode".
