It's rare, and follows their 2-in-1 line.
OK, but how does that relate to the video (very clear Duran Duran-themed track, a band linked with the JP8), and the 41H clue (the MIDI manufacturer byte for Roland), and the shape of the synth in the video (which looks like a JP8)..?

Or maybe you think the clues are *all* just red herrings?
Because Dire Straits used the DX-1 for Money For Nothing. But the video doesn't sound like an FM synth, so that can't be right.
DX1 also has an odd keyboard. It does have 5 octaves but it's offset. (Not that anyone would necessarily pay attention to that in a promo video)

- in the video, it’s obvious it’s a Jupiter 8 (considering the dimensions of the ofuscated keyboard
OTOH, they've referenced 1983 multiple times, and 1983 would be the JP-6 and has the same keyboard shape

And there's also the Roland MIDI clue, as the JP6 was one of the first MIDI-equipped synths. And "the wait is nearly over", possibly implying the wait for a proper virtual JP6, as there hasn't been one yet.

Of course, it could also be some kind of JP "best of", being able to do both JP8 and JP6 things...

And the Jup8 did not feature MIDI...

"Unlike its smaller counterpart, the Jupiter-6, the Jup 8 does not feature MIDI, only Roland's DCB sync can be found on some models. However, MIDI retro-kit's are available from various companies."

Some signs pointing to JP6, some to JP8 - if it’s a hybrid then I’d be intrigued. If it’s just a JP8, then I’d have minimal interest.

Cherry hit it out of the ballpark with the GX-80 hybrid.

So maybe a hybrid JP8 + something this time...?

A hybrid JP8/JP6/MKS-80 might be interesting, just a JP8 would be a pass from me though.

Indeed. If they did some kind of Roland Jupiter hybrid plugin, like they did with the Yamaha offering, I could see myself impulse buying. If it's just a Jupiter-8, that'll be a hard pass.

Would love a combined JP-8 and D50. I know Roland own the copyright on the waveforms this would be very cool.
