I have used Firefox for years but it seems to be getting slower, bloated and more inquisitive. And Edge wants to take over my life.

Can you recommend a good, secure browser (For Windows 7 onwards)?

Perhaps https://www.opera.com is something for you.
I use chrome and safari on desktop, but opera is my mobile browser.

I still use the fox... because of the extensions.
Heard of Brave, too lazy to try it out. But I heard good things.

I have used Brave for a couple of years now, best options to customize for cookies and many things.
- not only clear everything when exiting, you can specify same as when manually clearing stuff
- specify which cookie domains to clear always etc
Good shield options what to remove when visiting sites. I can't believe how much crap online stores send all over. Brave can show you what is removed, and you get a number how many things just visiting so easy to spot.

It happends an online store is not functioning with Shield up, so you can just take it down and it stays that way for that site until you remove it.

I really like Brave. It feels lightweight compared to other browsers and you get to control your data more freely. I got it both on my phone and computer.

Safari... lightweight enough. I still use Edge on the Windows VM and always keep an install of Firefox just in case something doesn't play nice on Safari

Chrome for me is just another tool for Google to track what ever you do.
- anything Google I avoid it and use vpn to remedy that they track just about everything on internet

I use Firefox ESR with Arkenfox's user.js on both my laptop and phone. I do not use any overrides. I also use uBlock Origin on Hard Mode. No other extensions are installed.

I can talk plenty about security, privacy, and anonymity, but for now, I believe this is enough information.

Yep. To anybody who don't know about that yet, Chrome is scanning files on your computer.

I didn't know about that. Anyway, Google, Facebook/Meta(Zuckerberg) are company's which i rather like to not trust.

Vivaldi for me since it came to be.
It's based on chrome but without the Google/MS/Brave bullshit.
VERY configurable.
If you want, you can have Email, Calendar etc. included.
Install "ublock origin" on top and be on your way to a much happier Web....
