Hi,

I've seen this kind of sound a few times, and I was wondering if anyone could give me some pointers on how to get it down. I've tried some noisy saws / sines and stuff, but nothing quite gives it the warmth and power I'm trying to match.

See examples:

Any help appreciated, thanks.

I really enjoyed that first one. The buffer loop effect at the beginning could be done with loop points but it's so smooth that it makes me think it might be Delta Sound Labs Stream:

For the rest of it and the other tracks, just get Nexus.

If you're talking about the very beginning intro, I know for a fact it's granular synthesis using Audio Damage's Quanta, I've seen him use it in some streams. It's a great piece of kit. I hope the link timecode worked correctly, as I'm after the more brassy sound in the second drop/chorus.

Nice. That's a great sound.

Vital presets + midis

Wiley's one is a bit more straight forward.

The 2nd one you can nearly tell it was made with filtered vocals which adds some nice texture to the sound.
But once you see how it's done with the notes and the reverb you can make your own and improve on it.
It needs ducking on it go give it that bounce

Okay, that first one is really good - I didn't realise how much it is about the chord voicings, how do you even figure something like that out when they're so far apart? Really is quite impressive.

Second one seems a little off to me, am I missing something with the preset? Sounds like a lot of the saw is coming through when I'd probably go with FM / distorted voices for that.

Thank you very much for the help.

yeah that 2nd one is odd but you can hear at the very start of the song that it's not a typical synth that's making the chords.
So it's about finding something unusual to make it interesting in this case.
Doing it in a synth sounds meh but you can get close-ish.
I would do it completely outside of Vital so you can ad multiple effects and tweak them to your liking.

The first one I knew that it was 2 voice unison from experience. the 2nd osc I "cheat" by using SPAN by Voxengo so i can see what notes etc. It's free by the way

I gave it my own try, it's a bit grittier than the original which I found hard to avoid, but the timbre seems a little more faithful. What do you think?

I see what you mean.
The "full-ness" comes from another supersaw layer that the filter opens and closes on which is somewhat high-passed.
mix the two to taste and you be closer.

Thats chorus you have on it can help with the Apashe song to fill it out even more.

That's an acute observation, thank you.
