Hi,

I have a Presonus Quantum 2626 sound card, and would like to use the optical/spdif input (not the ADAT connections) on the back of the Quantum 2626, as a digital main audio connection to my PC (Windows 11, Asus Rog Z590-F). I use the regular realtek optical out on the motherboard.

My main computer is a Mac Mini, connected via thunderbolt. That's why I would like to use a secondary digital audio connection from my PC to the Quantum 2626.

I have opened a project in Logic and using monitoring, but I still can't get no sound from my PC optical connection. I get sound using the analog line return at the rear of the Quantum 2626, but can't get optical/spdif to work. I have enabled the digital audio driver/function in Windows 11, and use the same sample rate (48khz) at both ends. Is this something the Quantum 2626 simply isn't able to do, or am I missing something obvious here?

Thanks for reading. Any advice/help would be greatly appreciated!

I just got the Quantum 2626 myself and my understanding is that it doesn't have optical spdif. The optical inputs/outputs are ADAT only. Spdif on the Quantum 2626 is coax.

There may be converters for ADAT <-> SPDIF but likely expensive and overkill for your purpose.

But the SPDIF coax <-> optical converters are like $20, just google "spdif coax to optical converter".
