Bitwig 5 speculations

I am waiting on and on for Bitwig 5 to finally activate my already purchased upgrade plan, but when does it come? And what will it bring?
Is NAMM '23 the milestone, where they are going to bring a big update or do we need to wait still longer?

I think version 5 won't happen for a long time cuz we still have 4.5, 4.6, 4.7, 4.8, 4.9.

Doesn't mean there can't be a major version jump at whatever point in time tho.

Seems almost all DAWs at the edge of update soon. Bitwig(4.5 or 5), Live(11.5 or 12), Logic Pro 10.8 (10 years this year, so maybe even 11?), Studio One (6.1), Cubase (13). We might see an update galore next couple of months.

Previous versions have gone more like x.0, x.1, x.2, x.33lu5iv3 wrote: Tue Mar 14, 2023 9:33 am I think version 5 won't happen for a long time cuz we still have 4.5, 4.6, 4.7, 4.8, 4.9.
Then major version upgrade.
I'm interested to see what'll be included in Bitwig 5.0 - but I'm very happy using it as is. I would just keep paying them without any updates!

yea... tantrums, crying, wailing, jealous ableton live users coming out of the woodwork...
I do understand if someone had a year of updates and they didn't get much in that year that it may feel unfair... Hopefully something will come long soon.
Or it'll all be like "That's it! I'm moving to xyz DAW. Because, I'm, I'm, I'm.... Impatient!"

Same here, in my view they are 5 years ahead anyway (only my personal taste, n9t interested to debate DAWs). When I trialed it, after 30 min I knew I would not even finish the songs on my other DAWs...._leras wrote: Tue Mar 14, 2023 12:56 pm Then major version upgrade.

Do they usually do sales around Update time? I want to upgrade my license.

I currently have Renoise and S1, but I'm considering Bitwig this summer just for its CLAP, MIDI, and modulation features. Repro-5 with 3 LFOS and 4 envelopes would be amazing!

Probably not around update time, but they do have sales.kev2525 wrote: Tue Mar 14, 2023 3:24 pm Do they usually do sales around Update time? I want to upgrade my license.
You can also pay for an upgrade and not activate it immediately, but wait until they add a feature you want.

Id suggest to ask about that in the Bitwig forum here. Lots of people can help.Korg Supporter wrote: Tue Mar 14, 2023 4:59 pm I currently have Renoise and S1, but I'm considering Bitwig this summer just for its CLAP, MIDI, and modulation features. For me the best thing about Bitwig is just the workflow. So smooth.
