Anyone know of an EQ that lets you drag the edge of a peak filter and it changes the Q and Freq automatically?

Post

Or put differently, something like Equavescent, this EQ lets you define a filter from a low and high Hz. In parametric EQ terms I'm looking for the same style of input, the plugin translates low and high Hz to the Freq and Q from the given input.

For example putting in Low:500Hz High 2000z will give the equivalent 1kHz Q0.7. Changing Low Hz to 250 will give the equivalent 700kHz Q0.4.

Longing for Equavescent...

Equavescent has some unfortunate flaws with the UI and the filter shapes get weird near Nyquist.

If I understand your question correctly, then it seems you could create your desired behavior in a Melda EQ using a multiparameter (perhaps in banks mode with interpolation on, if you need very specific values at certain hz positions).

in Pro-Q3 when you lock Gain and Q (little gear icon between) it will keep the "edges" of the bell constant. but no way to adjust the edges themselves.

It might be worth the time to to work it out. Any pointers on how to get started though?

Yeah not what I'm asking for, but a very awesome feature nonetheless.

UVI has a EQ (called "Shade" ) with a nice "modulation section".
this incloudes also a "knob control" ( called macro).

you can map this knob to many parameters,
and map your midi to that "knob control".
"Plugin has turned Drug now"....and the business knows it.

I don't have a chance to detail it at this time, but post in the Melda forum and you'll probably get some guidance.

I think I remember Vojtech saying that Mfilter is better as an EQ than Mequalizer.
Mequalizer just kept for backward compatability.

So anyway... download Melda free bundle, load up Mfilter.
At the top, click "Edit" and then click the vertical box on the right that says "multiparameters"
Choose an unnamed multiparameter, and click the three lines on the far right of the button, which should open up a box.
Click learn, and move the frequency and Q of any nodes you want to use.
Click multiparameter box again to end learning.
From here you will have a LOT of options to get to what you are looking for.
