Thank you Choos!

Any other help on the other ones esp the last video? Any else willing to advise or assist please?

Hi Gents is there any further advice or help you can give? Choos has been a fantastic help here in the forum, thank you Choos! Any one else is also welcome to advise or help if you feel you can!

Greeting Surreal! If noone comes beforehand I will give it that try as soon as I get there, so I got this on my radar, especially now that I told you so. (I typically follow through on my promises if I make some.)

Let me just add a few thoughts about Choos, the one I owe much respect, too.

The other thing I (as opposed to him) do is the kind of sport I'm active in (besides necessary and nagging work to pay the bills: and it never matters what you do there...). I do sports very intensely at the level of achievement sports. That's what really keeps me feeling alive and I spend almost all my time on it. Sound design and music is (only) my second pastime and though I'm at times (but only in phases) much devoted to this, too, and it's just a really fascinating world of its own, I do it much, much less than Choos does it and also with less constancy. Hence I could never match up with guys like Choos, e. g. I just couldn't catch up with all the experience they already have and the gaps will, of course, even be widening as they proceed with what they're doing by their free will and as I mostly just spend my time on achievement sports (besides stupidly working to make money). I might be able to beat him in my field, but definately not in his field!

Choos is a very busy and extremely self-sacrificing guy with his many jobs, his family life, etc. etc. I look up to this guy. In my humble opinion he is a professional in sound design but he's just incredibly nice, so he tutors people who are more or less amateurs in this (like me) for free. He's really ambitious in this field and I appreciate this especially much (speaking from my p.o.v. of a sportsman). You can't build up anything w/o constancy and ambitions and you need constant training and Choos has got all of that in his field! I think we're all happy to have him here. :tu:

the bass near the beginning of the demo

Let me first make sure about the reference: the bass from 38 sec. onwards? A filter seems automated on this sound so that it changes from simple bass to plucky bass and back again?

Hopefully reference is right.
I'll extract this sound now and try to analyse it in the DAW.

An attempt for Serum.
In my analysis it was something like a velocity sensitive slight kick bass with added filter pluck (don't know if it's a kick bass then or a bass or something in between?), but I could only manage to make the volume velocity sensitive. The amount for the filter pluck and for the short pitch fall should also be made velocity sensitive but I don't know if Serum could do that. :?: You could use automation curves for this in your Daw, though. :?: Anyways, it's my impression that the LP filter should open more and the pitch fall should become sharper if you hit the keys harder. In the patch I made those features are still missing.

Not sure about anything but it sounds kind of similar to me so that's just how I would create the sound if I had been completely on my own. I'm usually also more interested and thus probably slightly better with lead sounds, maybe?...

Good night! I should be fit tomorrow. :box:

Hi Juno!
Thank you very much for your assistance! I will load your patch up into my Serum and give it a go!

HI Guys just following up on my post.. Is there anyone else that can help or advise on the sounds I have asked about?

Post

Could you give us some useful feedback, please?
Is it the sounds you were looking for or is there something missing? If so what exactly?
I usually think feedback is really important so that I know what to improve or not.
