Dear KVR Members,

We have just released an update for Blue Cat's PatchWork, our multi-effects plug-in and application that can host third party plug-ins.

The update adds the ability to oversample processing for plug-ins (up to 16x). It is also possible to choose custom colors for all plug-in slots, and macro parameters can now mix PatchWork's own parameters with hosted plug-ins' parameters.

Thank you.

Can normal windows x64 VST exist of v2.65 with v1.74 without causing issues?

I have many presets for v1.x and also loaded in many projects.

V2 will actually override V1, but it is compatible, so all your sessions and existing presets should load in V2 (you may want to do a full backup of these settings before upgrading, just in case).

Thank you fro the wonderful update! I love to see polychaining, modulators, and CLAP support in the future.

What do you mean by "polychaining" ?

To make multiple plugins (whether monophonic or polyphonic) be used as voices. Check out the Bitwig Instrument Container or Unify's polybox for example.

Are there any plans to support AU3? It would be really nice to have a way to get Drambo into hosts.

I was experimenting yesterday and was surprised you can load Intel AU’s into the arm-64 version. The CPU performance isn’t great though & noticed some dropouts, could this be improved in the future?

Thanks dor adding the oversampling feature !
very useful for me.
So i´m back taking advantage of owning a Patchwork license ;)

Question:
Is there a "bypass" switch vs. the single plugin availble => mappable to midi CC/ automation? If not, feature request: please add it.

the macro control as is, is nothing competitiv.
please add a: "Draw curvature freely" feature.
....without that, its not possible to create real morphs. ( IMHO, this is not a YMMV situation / but its IMAO ;))
It would allow to store "hosted plugins" incl. some morph control mappings. With real morphs.
Right now, i´m NOT aware of any other tool that can do that.

That's in the plans (and parts of it have already been implemented), but it requires a plug-in scanner, as AUV3 audio units are exposed by apps and cannot be loaded from a file.

We are using Apple's bridging system for that, and I am afraid performance cannot be improved. The only way to get good performance is to use native ARM binaries :-)

Glad to see yo back! :-)

I wich we can do that in the future, but since lug-ins bypass were not initially exposed as Patchwork parameters, we are struggling to keep compatibility with existing sessions.

This may indeed be added in the future. If you use our plug-ins they already all have that feature built-in :-)

vs. expose "bypass of plugin" to CC mapping:

I see. It would be VERY great if you could manage to implement it.

vs. Free drawing of curvatures for CC- controls:
If you use our plug-ins they already all have that feature built-in
which ones have that ?
i have late replies ! just checked, there is nothing, just your common "chose a predefined curvature". Am i on an old one, and it was added recently ?

Thanks for feedback !

Whoops sorry, I guess I misunderstood this one. It is indeed not available at this point.

@Blue Cat Audio

On a M1/M2Mac (Ventura), VST3 vs.AU, your choice vs. PW ?:
Me, using Patchwork -as a plugin within other hosts- to host single plugins => so i can oversample these.
Do you see from your standpoint any weight towards one side, VST3 vs. AU ?

I´m not working with logic, and i´m only working on macs.
Just a thing of stability.
