Hi,

I´m curious about if you can use following signal chain for more "analog" results:

Guitar -> Hardware Amp-in-a-box-Overdrive (no cab sim in the pedal)> Audio Interface -> DAW -> Cab Sim (like Pulse etc.)?

Thanks!

Similar to my chain that gets everyday use : Strat > Mooer 013 preamp/amp sim pedal > interface

This little Matchless Chieftain clone pedal has both clean & dirty settings & works with or without it's internal cab emulation - sounds great

Awesome! thanks for your reply. Do you think it sounds better than a Sim Plugin like Neural DSP/Guitar Rig etc?

Yeah - I tried GR & did not care for it

Joyo/Harley Benton American Sound pedal into a Hi-Z/DI on an audio interface, or preamp, like a GAP Pre73, line out, into a audio interface. From there, into a DAW and cab sim.

I would also recommend experimenting with an active buffer after the guitar and before the last audio device.
Is materialism devouring your musical output? :ud:

Yes, you absolutely can. I like running my pedalboard--->amps and preamp pedals--->DI into my interface and just using a cab sim on the computer side. Amp sims have gotten so much better that the difference isn't always noticeable, but there won't be any aliasing present with analog pedals/amps if that's something you're worried about. Amp-in-a-box or a solid state amp will be the easiest way to do it. Tube amps will likely require a load box. Those Vox Valvenergy pedals are great for Di recording.

Also, almost anything sounds better than Guitar Rig these days.
