The difference is about having broken project older than "5 years" instead a month, to me this is a big difference

Thank you for this. May not suit everyone but it's a great starting point.plexuss wrote: Mon Mar 27, 2023 4:20 am Waves Alternative spreadsheet. Feel free to contribute

Somethings not right here. Over the many years Ive been a member of KVR, so many people have been anti Waves because WUP. Now there are countless threads asking for alternatives and bemoaning that they have now gone to subscription. People either like and use Waves or not
I wonder what happens if I press this button...

You can keep using something with pure hate in your heart while doing it. I don't think they exclude each otherramseysounds wrote: Mon Mar 27, 2023 12:34 pm Somethings not right here. Just for future reference, Id like some ideas on a Scheps Omni Channel replacement. What is something that is similar that is also light on the CPU?

I don't think there's any 1:1 replacement possible. Omni Channel has very specific modules such as the deesser with 2 separate fully parametric bands, 3 types of compressor topologies... I think you'd need several plugins to recreate something really similar.Saukar30 wrote: Mon Mar 27, 2023 1:09 pm Just for future reference, Id like some ideas on a Scheps Omni Channel replacement. I saw someone mentioned TBProAudio CS-5501. It seems to have comparable features. I’m not sure though.Saukar30 wrote: Mon Mar 27, 2023 1:09 pm Just for future reference, Id like some ideas on a Scheps Omni Channel replacement. What is something that is similar that is also light on the CPU?
Peace, my friends. I'm not seeking arguments here.

Imagine that someone used 5000€ to Waves plugins and pretty soon (when Mac iOS is updated again) they are in the same line as those who own nothing. I would be very very angry.ramseysounds wrote: Mon Mar 27, 2023 5:22 pmand there’s the problem. Personally, I’ll carry on using my latest version of Waves. Some are latest version, some aren’t. They won’t just stop working. I get why people are pi55ed, but there’s reaction and there’s over reaction.

Yep. Over reaction. 5k on Waves plug ins? Impossible.

That's a really cool analysis.sguyader wrote: Mon Mar 27, 2023 11:51 am Regarding RBass, you should watch this analysis video by Dan Worall:
So basically... injecting some harmonics at key frequencies can sorta get you there, in terms of mimicking what RBass is doing.
For shits... using a basic fm synth sine wave (in f'em), I inserted a bx_stereomaker & a bx_saturator V2. Cranked/tweaked the Mid Lo gain, drive & xl with the Crossover mid at 100Hz (Mono-Maker set to 100Hz), until the sub bass really popped out. Then tweaked the Side Hi with the X-Over set to 400 Hz to re-gain some of the high freq's.
A/B'd that with an RBass set at a -8.0 intensity and focused at a 100Hz frequency.
Compared a few more aggressive synth bass patches as well... and the results were extremely similar. So similar, I don't think most listeners would even be able to tell the difference between the two.
You can get the bx_saturator over at PA right now for free, with the MEGA-20-OFF voucher.

They have long time customers. Wup is 240$ a year. Before wup the prices were much more expensive.

Luckily we have a lot of similar plugins with trusted companies. If you need to replace something 100%, it might not be possible, but then there is always a way to learn new software. I would go to PSP Infinistrip from Scheps. It's not the same, but great all in one solution with zero latency. Would wait for the sale though.
