Its super annoying def. It seems to randomly replace a thumbnail with a screen clip of some part of the ui or something, then stretches it out vertically for multiple thousands of pixels. You have to scroll and scroll to get past it so you can select any other plugins. They didn't seem to know why, or how to fix it. They recomended reducing the number of plugins as a fix.

I'm not making excuses for said bug - of course it needs to be fixed. But can I honestly ask if you really use all 1000+ plugins? And for those that have 1500+ plugins? Like - I'm really curious how this fits into your workflow.

Does it really matter how it fits into my workflow? It's a bug that annoys me. The rest is of no consequence. But, as a for instance - I have the full Melda package so that's hundreds of plugins on its own.EnochLight wrote: Tue Mar 28, 2023 2:18 pmI'm not making excuses for said bug - of course it needs to be fixed. I already said I'm not making excuses for the bug, and of course it needs to be fixed. I'm asking how people fit 1500+ plugins into their workflow is all, and - yeah - it absolutely is of consequence. I'm asking how people can be productive with that amount of instruments/effects at their disposal. If there's a method, then maybe I can give it a try.WatchTheGuitar wrote: Tue Mar 28, 2023 3:04 pm Does it really matter how it fits into my workflow? It's a bug that annoys me. I've been in a lot of studios in my time and I've never walked into one that had 1500+ hardware synths/samplers/effects inside. Not even sure where they'd put them - LOL!

I have ample SSD space and picked up a lot of plugins over the last few years, most of the volume is down to collections like Melda, iZotope, IK, PA, Rob Papen, Waves (RIP) etc . Also I tend to install VST2 and VST3 versions of everything as some DAWs and plugin hosts work with one and not the other so that immediately doubles the number.
Normally having them all installed isn't much of an issue, only really noticeable on some DAWs that take an age scanning the plugins every damned time there's an update.
The only way it affects my workflow is I have more choice.
Obviously if you think limitations make your workflow better than have fun with a rock and a microphone.

Ok cool, I will give it a try then. Thanks!Jac459 wrote: Tue Mar 28, 2023 5:59 am Yes yes, I am 1000% sure because the bug has been running with Reason Studio for 2 months before they pointed me to this very simple solution.
To confirm: now I open Bitwig from scratch, I open a track --> no prompt.
I connect from the plane with no internet --> it works.
From time to time I guess RRP will have an internet connection to validate licence but it is once per week or so, not every time (and as far as I can tell it is without prompt).

Makes sense - I've got a lot of duplicates as well between VST2/VST3. Glad we can filter those in Reason now.WatchTheGuitar wrote: Tue Mar 28, 2023 4:22 pm I have ample SSD space and picked up a lot of plugins over the last few years, most of the volume is down to collections like Melda, iZotope, IK, PA, Rob Papen, Waves (RIP) etc . I mean, I've done similar to that before.

I am far from having 1000 but I do have quite a few "redundant" plug-ins too (ok, maybe more than a few). When I am exploring and looking for inspiration, I like to go to various different synths and try features I didn't use specifically. When I am clear on what I want to do, I go to my usual go to synths and don't lose time. It depends of mood.EnochLight wrote: Tue Mar 28, 2023 5:11 pmMakes sense - I've got a lot of duplicates as well between VST2/VST3. But on a serious note, I do personally find choosing from a limited tool set to be far more inspiring. And to be clear, I'm not lambasting anyone for having 1500+ plugins. I was just curious if there was a workflow that really allowed you to utilize them all, or if it was just a matter of "choice". Looks like the latter.

Well it's been a learning process as I dove back into playing around with computer audio about 5 years ago for the first time properly since about 20 years before that. Then I was generally looking do it all 'in the box' but I had a hankering for some hardware and now I'm mainly picking up hardware and only rarely spending money on plugins.

I am in quite a similar boat.Jac459 wrote: Tue Mar 28, 2023 5:16 pm I am far from having 1000 but I do have quite a few "redundant" plug-ins too (ok, maybe more than a few). It's a bit like my book-shelfs filled with hundreds of books. My wife doesn't really understand it.
I read about half of them, the rest is waiting for me to read them at some point. Some I might never read. But it's great and very inspiring to have them a) just in case and b) because when I am in the mood I can grab a new one to have a look at it and maybe it'll catch me. Maybe I just read/heard about it for some reason/in some context. Maybe something reminds me of it. Maybe something about it reminds me of something else.
And then there are the books I have already read and which I love that I for some reason take out now and then to re-read certain sections. And just looking at them comforts and inspires me.
I have no real idea how many plugins I have. certainly a few hundred. Now and then I load up one I haven't really used so far to take a good look at it; or maybe I haven't used it in a long time because some other has replaced it as my GoTo in the meantime. Both can be very inspiring.

I love effects, i use and have tons of them,
both software and hw. My collection of synths
is modest. I do have a thing for drum machines tho, again both software and hw.

I think more effects makes even more sense than more synths he he.pekbro wrote: Wed Mar 29, 2023 2:32 am I love effects, i use and have tons of them,

So when can we expect Reason Apple M Native?
Even ProTools are AS native now…
Reason as it stands is the only one that is NOT
