Has anyone here upgraded their Apple Mac M1 mini to the latest Mac mini M2 Pro? Also 10 core or 12?
Any feedback on the the subject please.

I moved from a MacBook Air m1 to a MacBook Pro M2 pro, does it count ?
I also have a mini m1 for that matter.
What is your question ?

Yes of course.
But not night and day.
In theory I did a calculation that was showing that m2 pro is twice as fast as the m1. But in real life, it doesn't feel like that.
First the m1 was already very very good. I was only having issue when I was doing the mixing and mastering with izotope suits directly in the track.
So basically now I don't have the issue. I can do everything on the same session. The DSP usage shows 70% though so I feel a new problem may appear for very complex tracks (I am using a ton of effects, some times output thermal and movement, and pro q3 and pro R and some spectral stuffs from bitwig all on the same individual track). And maybe 40 tracks per song roughly...
So you could conclude that if I have a problem it is that my housekeeping is shitty.

There no such thing as M1,2,3 etc; specific apps.Britishboxer wrote: Mon Apr 17, 2023 8:55 amSlight, maybe m5 will do..there is no noticeable difference, m2 apps dont exist yet
It’s AS. To put it in perspective, it is like intel “i” series of cpu. I7 will obviously be more powerful than i3..,
Ignorance is bliss
