The older v3 Tonebooster plugs are available for free. Barricade is excellent I find and the version here is still great, vst2, older gui style etc but... free!

If you're looking for something free and easy to use, I used LoudMax for years. But it is a bit lacking if you want to mess around with attack and release times.

Nah, for this price you can't get an advanced end game limiter.
But you can get a simple maximizer, for example the Weiss, TRacks, or similar.
Should be enough for a hobby.
Look for sales.
