Hi everyone, is it only me? Does it happen to others?
To be more clear, i have project files all over my computer on different folders, with some dumb names too, some i remember i had but can't even find where they are. Is it normal? What would be a good practice for keeping project files in order?

All important projects and files in the recycle bin for safe keeping.

I learned the hard way after having my physical hard drives stolen from my house to always use cloud storage for musical projects. I'll never lose anything again, though it's always a pain to reinstall plugins on a new machine.
There are many options, but I chose to use Google Drive. If your projects aren't too numerous, there's some free storage. I pay, because I want a lot of freedom to keep things safely tucked away. I started using a particular file naming convention, which tells me a lot about the state of a file, and once I get even a scratch arrangement done, I render it to both .wav and .mp3 as a means of keeping track of my output in a playlist in Winamp. Works for me and I no longer have clutter because it's all going into one big searchable folder.

Nope. All recent projects and ones in the pipeline sit in their own folder inside the main Cubase Projects folder & I don't dick around with the format or position. Completed ones either moved to a Completed Projects folder on my separate storage drive or binned. I've buggered around with them in the past and learned the hard way. For many years I just deleted finished ones...I rarely return to old projects anyway and if I ever do, it's the midi that I use, rarely any recorded audio. I figure if I want to redo...then make it a proper redo from ground up.
If I could be arsed sifting through project folders deleting all the audio, I would, but as it is I'm lazy and just click save.

Is it normal to be organized?
Yes, if you are an organized person.
My desktop has looked like yours many times.
I have finally taught myself to be more organized because in the long run you can save a ton of time and not misplace important files.
It takes a little discipline but is worth the effort.
In the long run you will be glad you did it.
Now, if I could just find my missing socks........

An idiot on Set Theory:
"In some cases there is an object called red that contains everything that is red. In much the same way a pot is a plate."

You may find it helpful to have a consistent system for naming your files:

The UCS was created because it was normal in the SFX world to have project names all over de place
I have a system similar to UCS but with more sub-categories, eg types of Percussion and Piano
That categorising process took time but I became more familiar with what I have
When I get more than I can quickly remember, I toss the excess
Too much of anything gets in the way
Hence my signature
