I'm not paying 240€ for non-updates ever again.

I did it once, to get my stuff on v12, because it was easier to manage that way but...

Yeah, it was. Unfortunately, StudioRack is an exception in perpetual purchases and cannot be purchased separately, it's subscription only.

I assume you could still WUP an existing older StudioRack license.

Lucky to have it. Guess most of would have it.
I don't see it listed in my WUP list along with the other plugins. I hope that's just an oversight and will be corrected in the future..

But color me surprised to see the 30 dollar sales back. I was almost certain they'd try to make the subscriptions look 'better' by making the individuals cost a lot more.

Guess they have removed StudioRack from WUP on purpose? Hope I am wrong and those that have older versions can upgrade to V14.

Nah...

It's a sales system based on constantly adding new things and never improving the things they have. PA is the same in my opinion, its a numbers game....better to pick a few high quality well supported plugs like say Fabfilter.

Yeah, I am hoping bundle upgrades will return and hopefully at a nice discount price. But I also fear if they have intentionally removed the upgrade option.

Indeed, this is what their support said yesterday:

Right now, we do not have information on when it will be available on our website. Our team is working on it. We request you to keep an eye on our website regarding this information.

So that’s good - when, not if. It took 4 days on top of reinstating the WUP to get perpetual back, so more time on top for the bundle updates isn’t all that surprising.

I saw Sweetwater had the waves plugins back for sale yesterday.

Looks like StudioRack is now back to Free too (yesterday it was still subscription only). woohoo

That's right, however the WUP, DOES work on their end, so we put back our page that takes both upgrades and WUP codes. and we'll have to wait until they restore the upgrade options.

Yes. I understand the thought there.

Raise the price 50%, outcries, lower price by 25%, happy. Meanwhile the price went up 12.5% from originally. Yet few care because it isn't the initial 50% increase at least.

And the slow rise up continues. Boiling a frog.

That said, I think many most of the people not comfortable with Wave's move have already moved or are in the process of finding alternatives.
