With all the updates from Elektron flying around these days, it makes me wonder if something is coming for the Analog Rytm as well. Portamento for that would be absolutely golden.

A few years back I would say that would never happen, but Elektron have changed lately, with providing some really cool updates for their existing lineup.

The 1.5 Digitakt update introducing sampling machines is amazing, it really is a new machine for me now with slicing and Plocking, utterly superb.

1.5 is very easy to work with.

I’m definitely excited by all the updates.

I usually don’t care so long as it’s stable, but since I sold my BlackBox I had been on the lookout for something that could play synced audio while paired with Digitakt & Syntakt, and now Digitakt does this easily.

I’m still checking out Loopcloud. I let it scan my library but I have a feeling I won’t pay and just complete a few couple extra steps to export a looped section from Live

I can't say that there's anything I'm really lacking in any of my Elektron boxes, but I'm still holding out hope that they eventually give Syntakt some sort of rudimentary sample layering. I'm sure they don't want that to eat into Digitakt's territory, but the ability to layer some samples in with the different machines would take Syntakt to a whole other level. Hey, a middle-aged kid can dream, right?

But, on a different note, if Digitakt v1.5 is "ginormous", what will v1.6 be?

I was thinking there’s either a Digitakt MKii, or a Syntakt update that adds samples.

With the new features added to Digitakt, I wouldn’t be surprised to see the 1-shot mode added to Syntakt. There’s definitely going to be less grumbling if they add this now.

A year ago I would say that would be impossible. Today - I could see that happening. I like the new Elektron. I miss Cenk and his incredible demos though.
