I guess 16 seconds is enough to loop a beat or a bar or 2 of a track.
Anyway i don't think its released until new year when i will actually be able to afford it, so i can keep looking around for a while.

Dunno - I could make good use of this thing live with one of my projects.
We're just two guys:
I'm playing guitars (&basses) and keys and doing programming
the other guy is singing, playing drums and keys and doing programming.
If just the two of us want to perform our stuff live we need to trigger some loops and stuff.
If the sample-memory would be bigger I'd probably buy this thing.

You might be better going for something like a Korg Electribe sampler. About twice the price, but you're getting a much more powerful phrase sampler with many FX built-in and the like. Actually it has to be said, why dont these kinda things take memory cards? I mean, the cost of a CompactFlash card is minimal, and the interface chipset has to be be sodding cheap as hell now...

Why don't the take care of such important points?
On this product, almost certainly economics. Saving a couple of DM on parts makes a massive difference in a production run on a budget piece of kit. Remember it probably costs about £20 to manufacture, so it becomes a more noticable slice of the cost.
But even on less budget-oriented stuff, where you're paying several hundreds of bucks, you still see fixed memory, where the overhead is more easily accounted for.
