The thing is I have been collecting TRacks plugins over many years going back to TR3 so I'm close to actually owning the entire "Max" content (not the new stuff which was not part of the old Max package).

So if they took into consideration what I already own and based my upgrade price on that I'd probably buy Max even though I don't have any use for the new stuff (tape machines etc).

As it is now I have to take into consideration what I'll pay and what I'll get in return (that's useful to me). As it stands right now I'm not likely to purchase the Max upgrade at the current price.

The Bus Compressor.

I think there are only 5 TRacks plugins I don't own and that's the only one I want. The rest I had a chance to get during group buys but passed on in favor of others or don't need like the Mic Room.
It looks like there's a version of that compressor in Mix Box, do you have that yet? Not as many controls, but I think many of the basics are there.

I have TS 3.5.

I'll only upgrade T-Racks when it gets to v6.

I'm only using a few things from TS 3.5 anyway (SampleTron, T-Racks, Hammond and, rarely, Amplitube and Lurssen) so it doesn't really make sense for me to upgrade.

Thanks for reminding me, I do own MixBox. :tu:

All the major controls except the L/R M/S stuff are there in the MixBox edition.

I normally prefer to use TRacks singles because they don't suffer from the fuzzy GUIs that the MixBox editions do. (that was reported long ago and never fixed)

I noticed that there is an update available for TRacks 5 that's 2 gigs in size. No doubt to install all the new plugins that I may never own. :?

The Total Studio pricing model seems pretty comparable to Komplete and Komplete Ultimate to me: you get significantly reduced pricing on what's basically their entire catalogue, but upgrade pricing for newer versions isn't much better compared to first-time buyers.
It's definitely better than how some high-profile developers (not naming any names) will set higher upgrade pricing than just buying the software without upgrade, basically meaning that legacy customers get the same deal as new ones. At least previous buyers are being offered something with this.
Peter - IK Multimedia wrote: Thu Apr 06, 2023 4:58 pm Also please note that our pricing has changed, not only are the Total Studio and other MAX versions much lower than they were before for full and crossgrade but many other prices have changed.
With that said, I can't help but raise an eyebrow at how the Sounds Download Credit system remains in spite of "IK's commitment to its customers owning the software they need". It's commendable that IK is offering lower prices for everyone, and I think there's a lot of good in it, but if Waves has proven anything in the past week, it's that a commitment to customers owning the software they need in the long term is a pretty big deal.

I wonder if longer-time customers might have been more impressed had the Sounds Download Credit system been removed entirely instead of these reduced prices? Or as a compromise on both ends, maybe even just a reduced price on the credit in exchange for slightly less decreased initial purchase prices. Unlike a lot of others I've seen, I'm not super critical about this point, but I think it's worth acknowledging.

Does anyone know if SampleTank 4 MAX V2 comes with any improvements to the SampleTank 4 player at all? The Product Manager says that the latest version is still 4.2.3, which has been confirmed after its release to have a bug that affects my use of it. (I've been staying on 4.1.7, which doesn't contain this error.)

Likewise, the Total Studio 4 MAX page mentions "the new IK Product Manager", although when I go to download it, it's still at v1.0.5/v1.0.4 depending on your OS.

It looks like there’s actually 2 upgrade levels from this page - https://www.ikmultimedia.com/news/?id=T ... o4Released . Regular upgrade is from owning any paid product, Maxgrade is from owning any Max product. So the three tiers for Total Studio are:
Total Studio 4 MAX – $/€799.99* – 170 products, over 640 GB of sounds
Total Studio 4 MAX upgrade – $/€499.99 (for registered owners of any paid IK product)
Total Studio 4 MAX MAXgrade – $/€299.99 (for registered owners of Total Studio 3 (or 3.5) MAX, AmpliTube 5 MAX, T-RackS 5 MAX, SampleTank 4 MAX, TONEX MAX, Syntronik 2 MAX and MODO MAX)
Logically, upgrades from TS 3/3.5 MAX should be in its own, €199 tier. TS3 was a lot more pricey than just e.g. T-Racks 5 MAX.
Total Studio 3.5 MAX folks will see a $/€50 coupon in their cart to apply toward the MAXgrade pricing.

I own TS Max 3.5 and when I try to put version 4 to my basket it initially displays 299 price but then it says I'm not eligible even tough I own the 3.5 version. Any idea why?

This is not for v4, but 3.5 is still great, especially for $199

I'm interested in the SampleTank 'MAX' package. Is there any difference between the Syntronik elements you get with that and the actual Syntronik MAX package?

their site is dumb. it tells me i'm eligible for an upgrade but doesn't tell anything about it or where to look. i haven't installed the 1 plug in i have because i got a new computer and don't want to install the entire product line as a demo. apparently the new installer allows you to install only what you own... but wtf.. i don't care enough to go get it or deal with this company

I didn't.

Same here. I looks as though the green box should be a link to my upgrades but it doesn’t work

I will not upgrade because some stuff I've bought besides Total Max 3.5 will not be factored into my upgrade price. Total Max 4 offers too little for me to justify 250 bucks. I can wait...
