It refuses description, allowing only the vague approach of adjectives: dark, light, raw, angelic. Who or what is making these noises? Where are they coming from and what do they point to? What kind of entity can leave such a troubling sonic remnant?

I read that as "Pork Eater" and figured the name was taking a jab at Sausage Fattener.
Anyway, I like the GUI here, seems helpful.

Ah, GClip: the best, most simple clipper that's free. I've debated back and forth, time and time again, about "upgrading" GClip to StandardClip, or the over-priced Karzog clipper. Nope. Not worth it. GClip remains in my toolbox and is used in every project to trim spurious peaks/spikes.raolien wrote: Sun Apr 09, 2023 4:02 am first impressions...i really like it..this has the potential to finally fill the GClip sized hole ive been missing since upgrading to an Apple Silicon Mac
...as for Peak Eater: Bravo!

For me one of the most important aspects of a clipper is actually to see as well what gets clipped off...2:43AM wrote: Sun Apr 09, 2023 4:44 amAh, GClip: the best, most simple clipper that's free. GClip for me has by far the very best implementation...showing both sides of the waveform... zoom... solid lines for the clipping levels...everything it needed...
Sadly it´s not scaleable on 4k so it´s too tiny to be useful and I was very shocked when looking for an alternative how weak all other clippers out there are with the visual representation...
StandardClip was the one I settled on but this GUI can be really helpful... thx!
I find it really shocking to see that always the devs making free plugins understand better how it should look like than payed people...

I finally had the chance to play around with this thingie a little bit...
Are you crazy to give this away for free???
I mean this in a positive sense!!
Even with oversampling the CPU readout in Reaper doesn´t move the slightest bit... it seems to run with hot air only...
The GUI is fantastic, linking of Input and Output, different clipping modes, great measurements, seamlessly scalable, oversampling...
Please tell me that you somewhere the possibility to at least donate you something...
This plugin shouldn´t be free...
It offers everything I use in StandardClip (and the GUI in a much better way) and this is 25,-€...
Great job... and tell me the link to be able to pay you something as I think Peakeater will be my favourite Clipper from now on!

+ Really good plugin, like it so much.
- When I resize GUI and reopen plugin again, it has "default" (smaller) size again. Little bit annoying to resize it over and over.
Donation button with possibility to support you would be nice.

Decent looking plugin but unfinished and buggy. Uses about half the CPU of KClip3 and StandardCLIP, but with zero latency too. The 'Eaten' display is wildly inaccurate; with material peaking at 0.5dB the display would remain at 0.0 and occasionally display a peak of up to 0.2dB, and with oversampling engaged it was displaying peaks up to 11.5dB. The resizing bug was reported a month ago but the dev hasn't commented. Looking at that page I get the impression the project isn't a priority for him. Understandable if it's free. If it gets a solid update I might start using it.

Having noticed any problems here... and with the resize bug I can live as I tend to open a clipper as latest process in a chain when everything else is done...set it once... and never touch it again.Vortifex wrote: Mon Apr 10, 2023 6:04 pm Decent looking plugin but unfinished and buggy. Sounds good enough for simple softclipping. Definitely a keeper, for it's simplicity and low-cpu use. Thanks a lot!
Still it cannot touch softlipper from elysia alpha compressor from PA.

I wouldn´t either use it for advanced clipping stuff but for just cutting off some transients and a bit more (that´s most of the time what I need a clipper for) it works really great...kPere wrote: Tue Apr 11, 2023 10:00 am Sounds good enough for simple softclipping.
