How do I recreate that screaming lead in the first verse (0:16 through 0:46)?

I'm guessing it's a distorted sine (maybe with some unison) and with some delay and reverb. Distortion doesn't seem to cut it though. Am I in the right direction though?

No. It's the lead that's drenched in reverb. Skip to 0:43 and you'll hear it much more clearly.

On second thought, it sounds more like a supersaw, maybe with lots of feedback, giving it that distorted sine tone ???
