I LOVE the one in Audio Damage Dr. Device. Just turn off the delay section, instant cream dream.

interesting that so many of you folks come to Volcano3 and the Drop.
I like Volcano3, but it never felt creamy in my hand.
will give it another try for "this specific purpose" .
Are there specific settings/modes i should look at ?
its a while since i used it in my patches, since i replaced it for the uses "i had", with dynamic EQs.
( i changed my patch strategy back then )
I have the Drop too, ...and found it never anything comparable to a creamy Hardware filter.
Maybe the difference lies here between "sequenzing" and hand playing s?.....i only play by hand.
I would guess so, that this IS a factor here.
....and i just might never have found my way to it. ....seems so, then.
i´ll look again at it, "if" my license still works on my todays computer.
Thanks for feedback everybody !
The moogerfooger clone seems to be best (from demos). .......i buy it when i can have the filter alone, for a fair price.
I just checked, i found only the bundle deal.

You can buy them individually now. Maybe there is a deal out there somewhere. It sounds amazing. I've been using it today, just bought it.Funky40 wrote: Mon Apr 10, 2023 1:06 am interesting that so many of you folks come to Volcano3 and the Drop.

Ahh, the demos there just turned me down....lol.
I´ll wait with this one for blackfriday to happen, i think.

What are you actually using it on?
Just to state the overly obvious: just putting a filter FX after a synth is never going to get you the sound you get with a filter that's actually part of the synth - unless it's a mono-synth and you do some trickery (which would depend on the actual filter plugin you use).

i use it behind a sampler for creative "realtime-play" sounddesign purposes.
It is exactly to make it sound "Synth-ish" creamy. It IS about the cream-aspect of it.
Filtering without "that" cream aspect would be here pointless for me.
Respectivly have i switched over to use -dynamic- EQs for such tasks.
...thats allready incorporated in that patch, btw. .
I was a modularsynth specialist, i know all this. What you state is the obvious, ....but its in fact not necessarily true.
Ohhh, yes, we deal here with mono voices only ! So, there´s that

Seems like he is looking for a creamy hardware filter and not being able to find a digital emulation which is 'creamy' enough.

I think The Drop is excellent. But at first i wasnt so impressed. What i would recommend is taking notice of the input level and adjust using the pads to the left. All the filter models react different to the level going in and it makes a drastic difference to the resonance.Funky40 wrote: Mon Apr 10, 2023 1:06 am interesting that so many of you folks come to Volcano3 and the Drop.

I know exactly what "creamy" means - it's hard to describe until you yank the cutoff on a Moog hardware synth and wish plugin filters sounded that delicious. What is that sound? Creamy, ofcourse
Honestly I'm not sure I've ever found it in a plugin - maybe the closest I know would be TAL-Filter (V1), Kazrog Synth Warmer and Kilohearts Non-linear Filter, but they're not quite there.

Of course it’s going to depend on what you put through it, any old sound won’t sound creamy. Try a decent phaser before or after the filter
