Waves LayD pedal in GTR3 can do the same sound really well, though it's not remotely as flexible as Crystalizer. The latter one was copied indeed from Harmonizer 3000. Eventide H949 can also do the same thing to some degree. H3000 Factory can't.Elektronisch wrote:Man, i find this suggestion out of proportion, because that plugin alone costs 349, wheres Soundtoys 5 whole bundle with a good number of plugins on sale can be had for 299.ChamomileShark wrote:"Crystallizer is basically Soundtoys take on Eventide H910"
I would check that - I thought Crystallizer was Soundtoys take on Crystal Echoes which was on the later generation H3000 (which some of the Soundtoys people had worked on while with Eventide). I don't think the H910 or H494 can do the reversed echoes that are part of that sound. I'm not sure it's on the H3000 Factory plugin either - not sure I've only had it for a short time but I can't see it in the preset list. That's actually a bit odd because there is a Crystals algo for the H9 pedal so Eventide obviously realise people like it. Maybe because Soundtoys got there first with a plugin there is no point in trying to compete.![]()

Crystals is a different also in the H3000 than H910/H949 and they do different things. Soundtoys's Crystalizer sounds very different from my memories of the H3000 or the H9 pedal's algorithm. I think the Soundtoys plugin is better but I also find all the permutations of limited use, at least dry... the effect is very jarring to my ear.
That said, all of them and the Eventide H910 plugin can be used to build an Eno/Lanois shimmer effect, though, in a config where they are combined with some 90-100% reverb, eq and compression, especially when set up in such a way as to have controlled feedback.

That's a stupid thing to say, as both have quite a different feature-set...

I've had the Uhbik bundle almost since the day it was released. It's a good sounding collection of FX that includes more "meat and potatoes" FX. It's not as specialized as some other FX bundles such as the those from SoundToys and FabFilter, for example.malachy5 wrote: Fri Jan 06, 2017 11:04 am Other bundles that might be worth thinking about are U-he Uhbik which is useful and a little different. If U-he updated it and added in the RePro effects and the RePro filter it would be a really cool bundle.
I remember reading on the u-he KVR forum that Urs is working on v2.0 updates to all of the Uhbik effects. You can download the Alpha versions here:

But yeah, if u-he included the FX from their Prophet 5 emulation, that would the bomb.

Wow. You get your ass handed to you in the other Soundtoys thread so you resurrect this one?
I wonder what happens if I press this button...

Amen! Even-tough they somewhat improved loading times in the last update, I wish for faster still. As fast as native single DAW plugins should be the aim.

That's right, some plug-ins are included that are not available at Soundtoys. Roland Dimension D or the Juno Chorus or the Space Echo. Presumably, these are not yet available natively for the UAD (UA Spark would be another alternative). So Arturia is particularly interesting.GHOST19 wrote: Mon Apr 10, 2023 10:54 am The Arturia FX collection 3 on sale at the moment has quite a bit of overlap and a wider range of FX overall.
Arturia FX complements Soundtoys very well.
