It refuses description, allowing only the vague approach of adjectives: dark, light, raw, angelic. Who or what is making these noises? Where are they coming from and what do they point to? What kind of entity can leave such a troubling sonic remnant?

It is a very good filter whoever developed itnoiseresearch wrote: Tue Apr 11, 2023 7:14 am I wonder which filter is implemented in Drift. The Cytomic ones?
I also wonder if I missed something as Andy (from Cytomic) mentioned something with the release of Live 11.andy-cytomic wrote: Mon Sep 20, 2021 8:42 am [...] and continuing collaboration work with Ableton, which will soon be released to the public.

Well Andy mentioned that by the end of 2021. Since that I've not been aware of anything "new" like "cytomic" new device in Ableton. Perhaps I missed it or they keep it for the Live 12.SLiC wrote: Tue Apr 11, 2023 8:12 amIt is a very good filter whoever developed itnoiseresearch wrote: Tue Apr 11, 2023 7:14 am I wonder which filter is implemented in Drift. Not built in but there are several good clippers in m4live offered for free on m4live site. You can clip with Saturator?
There are paid ones as well..

Yes, it works well especially with the digital mode... but without any visual representation at all...
It would be nice if there would be some visuals what has been done to the signal...
Your ears can cheat yourself much easier than your eyes...
However, there are many great clippers even freeware out there, so this wouldn´t be high on my list...
It would be really nice if they could improve on the the BiP functionality... the BiP plugin is nice but a offline method would be very welcome... especially with the options Cubase has (at least for bounce) that you can choose where (in the signal path) and what to bounce...

Not trying to stir up or upset you, really not my goal here, especially since you are (I guess) an experienced Live user. But with clipping it is exactly the other way around. You already have good meters in Live Mixer, you just clip it with Saturator and listen until you are "there". What do you want to see really?Trancit wrote: Tue Apr 11, 2023 10:21 am Yes, it works well especially with the digital mode... but without any visual representation at all...

Can I recommend you this one if you want to do it visually:
It is super duper nice sounding, visual and free - you can add $5 to fund developer.

FYI, I was on Ableton for a very long time. I have working knowledge of Ableton, FL Studio, Reaper and Bitwig.liquidsound wrote: Tue Apr 11, 2023 4:51 am Simply put then, your mind is not for Ableton.
I use both but Ableton workflow and instruments gets me where I want to go and way faster.
Bitwig has its charms, mostly CLAP and indulging modulation system for me (tempting aspects for sure), but Ableton is extremely efficient and effective in executing my ideas.
Simplicity = Power as I see it and have experienced it for a long time.
Several times I wanted to jump ship but then, of course, I come to my senses![]()
Bitwig is more efficient. Ableton needs two tracks and routing just to add a midi plugin before an instrument. Logically speaking, neither simple nor efficient.

Long time doesn't equal proficiency. Enjoy Bitwig by all means!a9k1tp wrote: Tue Apr 11, 2023 6:35 pmFYI, I was on Ableton for a very long time. Super nice. I almost mentioned Glue in my earlier post. Please post a preset (if possible) for everyone else.noiseresearch wrote: Tue Apr 11, 2023 5:36 pm The best native "workaround" in Live is setting up The Glue to act as a clipper – and it comes with clip indicator and oversampling. While not "mastering grade" it's good enough for shaving of peaks of single tracks or drum bus and you have a little clip indicator as well.
This kind of rack gives you automatic volume compensationDrive to taste, watch the clip led or listen...
