yeah. I don't play anything professionally (as it may be) released. its all indie stuff from online.

Having listened several nights, I'd guess:

- It doesn't cost anything, no sticky licensing as most have been probably set up to be freely played elsewhere (Creative Commons or whatever). It's also already in mp3 for streaming.

- It's ampcast, it's their general approach to web music.

- It's meant to be sort of community thing, and possibly a sociopolitical statement on the need to rethink the commodification of music, especially as it relates to indy artists. (that last one might just be me)

Again, just a guess. Intel might think it better suits the sound of his voice.

whatever the reason,he does actually play some good stuff,and i myself have found a few artists through his show that i now own self released cds by

i think its a good thing to be honest i only wish it wasnt on at 3 oclock in the morning my time!!now i aint workin nights that bleedin late

that's it, in a nutshell. technically, according to Ampcast Radio bylaws, I'm only supposed to play music found at ampcast.com, but I stretch that because its volunteer work and they can fire me if they want. actually they won't, as I already fired off a message to one of the owners telling him what I was doing and his response was something to the effect of "I don't f**king care".

as with maintaining some degree of adherence to the rules, I do only play freely available independent music that I've found online. this I do because I want to at least make an effort not to get Ampcast in any sort of legal trouble, but mainly because I've long been a supporter of independent music. the amount of unheard music available on the internet is mind boggling, so I make an effort to help move some of the good stuff around to spread the love.

although, this is a really good answer as well.
