KVR metaverse alternative ?

Hi,

Sometimes I’m reading threads and posts from KVR and I think they’re from another dimension.

Could you recommend a good metaverse-KVR alternative please ? Any KVR where people are saying things we can understand. That could be fun.

I already have Hive2, thanks in advance.

There are subreddits, fb groups and discord servers where people gather to discuss plugins but no one has as good old users as KVR, the humor here is sublime, the inside jokes, the self referencing memes, the zero delay feedback (you get answers as soon as you post).

Should I make one in Horizon Worlds? They upped the recording limit of their audio recorder gizmo to 20 minutes, so you can actually get a fair amount of decent quality music into a world. We could have DJs that only use tracks from the KVR Cafe.

I assume it is, but not really sure tbh. I'll report back in June after I do my annual check-in on my birthday to reply to people who haven't noticed that I haven't posted anything there in 15 years.

Gearspace is the primary alternative to KVR. There are many other forums that are more focused. I often prefer those as they can be more technical with respect to some universe of discourse. That said, I'm not sure what your complaint is about KVR. KVR is hardly technical outside of the DSP and Music Theory forums. It's mostly packed with "favorites" lists and ranting about vendor policy. There's not much that's hard to understand there, no?

Reddit is low stress, easy to find communities and has some degree of moderation. Pro tip: preface any google search with just reddit to find the various communities.

I actually like Facebook, but it takes a bit of work. Like Jan (who I'm happy to be friends with on Facebook) said, it's as boring as your friends. It's easy enough to defriend someone who's an ass hole (as my oldest friend did to me when he found out I wasn't for Donald Trump), or mute their boring posts by unfollowing them but remaining friends. The key is finding fun friends who post interesting things. Like me! My feed has basically become tons of synth and guitar stuff. Science Fiction... science... cats. Lots of cats. A good rule of thumb to make Facebook interesting is to unfollow anyone who posts anything remotely mundane. If you post your dinner, that better be some damn photogenic grub, or you will get instantly unfollowed.
