Still need to implement envelopes, polyphony, and fine-tune the control scheme for phase modulation, but here's how it's sounding so far:

Soundemote - 64 Efficient Hypersaws (mp3)

After I release the Hypersaw on the forum I will be moving to my discord (https://discord.gg/hjpBC8kZ3s) to do all future updates for all products (as well as website and e-mail list) and be less active here.

well I like 64 saws per voice it turns out. :help:

omg chords on this thing....

soundemote - chordal hypersaw demo (mp3)

I made this demo before I implemented playable polyphony, but that might be done tonight. I'll be releasing a build as soon as it's playable.

Edit: OH! Important: I added pitch compensation for the phase drift so now with the right settings you can play high notes that awesomely big and lush and then play a low note that sounds nice and buzzy, not harsh, not overly modulated, but it still retains the spirit of the higher notes and heavy modulation. And the cool thing is you can dial in how much pitch compensation you want. The variable pitch compensation was a happy accident based on the control scheme that naturally allows for it.

Alright, I've known this from the beginning that my flavor of DSF oscillators suffer from problems when doing extreme phase modulation. For now, hypersaw will be using PolyBLEP.

Updated to 0.4 (final version! feel free to use for serious projects.)
- reorganize controls
- modwheel connected to phase drift amount
- sustain on/off
- velocity amplitude response
- seperate env and phase control
- BUG FIX: stuck notes

Post

damn... WELP... I added a dedicated pitch compensation control and it's now one of my favorite parameters. I also realized that I wanted to be able to turn off pitch compensation to get the my original and more aggressive hypersaw sound which had no pitch compensation.

Updated to 0.5
- pitch compensation control (added at the bottom so does not interfere with existing projects)
- BUG FIX: fixed steps and random steps were reversed/mislabeled in drift style

Post

Updated to 0.6
- BUG FIX: voices now only randomize initial phase on attack instead of all voices changing on every note played (caused stuttery sound).

I realize now after designing the random envelope that it actually needs a random low and random high controls. I'll have to do something like that in a future revamp. Currently the random envelope works well for now for its indented sound.

You'll have to be more specific.

I just downloaded Bitwig and my plugins show now controls it seems. VST sucks. Might as well think about starting dual development of CLAP and VST... Edit: and UI while I'm at it...

Post

question: why am I bothering with VST if I'm just making prototypes that only a handful of you will use? Might as well do 100% CLAP and I'll get similar results, and probably development will be a bit easier(QUESITONMARK?) and do VST later haha. We'll see...

Post

As my host of choice doesn't yet support CLAP, I'd be sad.

Aparently there's a clap to vst3 wrapper that works pretty well. And maybe email your DAW developer to get them on board of the clap train, unless it's the Steinborg we're talking about.

Final release of SoEmHypersaw 0.7: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1vZY5hz ... share_link

0.7 is substantially different than 0.6 in terms of parameterization, it's much better organized and sliders are more sensitive, easier to dial in where need, so 0.6 will continue to be available for projects that used it.

Moving forward I will not be very active on KVR, so I will be more active in Soundemote discord. https://discord.gg/hjpBC8kZ3s

Latest music made with Hypersaw: Soundemote - Hypersaw Synthwave (mp3)
- Making use of hypersaw going into Flower Child Filter 2 for the bass
- No reverb was used on the hypersaw synth strings, that's all raw modulation, baby.

It is using some throw-in features that I will be offering to patreon subscribers when I eventually make that. Those extra features being: a tape emulation/modulation you can apply to the pitch, you can apply that per voice or to the entire synth at once.

trying to make hollywood style strings with hypersaw, this is using the base plugin (no tape emulation) and some Eos reverb. soundemote - hypersaw orchestra (mp3)

I'll probably work on this a bit more at some point, but running out of time for music so just gonna post it now.

Man,this is amazing, what you are doing :)Will try to do some preset with my humble sound design experience :)Cheers :)
