The Naked City post brought back memories of that great period in Bill Frisell's career.
This track is from a Nino Rota tribute album with Bill covering themes from Fellini's Juliet of the Spirits.

Three Dog Night did innovative covers of tons of great 60's and 70's artists. Hoyt Axton and Paul Williams, among them.
NB: I didn't go through 14 pages, so if they've already been mentioned.. never mind..

We shall see orchestral machines with a thousand new sounds, with thousands of new euphonies, as opposed to the present day's simple sounds of strings, brass, and woodwinds. -- George Antheil, circa 1925 ---

I would post Sinead O Conner Nothing Compares To You (Illicit Mix), but it's nowhere to be found on the interweb. I think I prefer O Conners version to Prince and I prefer this remix to to original. Illicit is a group of bootleg remixers. They've done so many great remixes through the decades (India Arie's Brown Skin one of my faves.) Anyway, they turned it into a trip hop masterpiece with the most chill saxophone break in the middle. At least it resides on one of my music backup USBs.

Speaking of USB. This just played in the car and I'd forgot about it. Candy Flip - Strawberry Fields Forever
