Same problem here. Happens with all the plugins mentioned in the opening post.

I installed varim00n version 5.0, it opens normally without problems

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it has something to do with missing driver support (really old GPU) for some newer OpenGL/DirectX feature / texture format. Maybe the plugins can be recompiled for an older OGL/DX level.
