Oh jeez - the analogy could not be poorer.

We all have access to far more and better tools than all previous generations of musicians had.

Plus a minute ago you talked about song-writing. All I need for that is a pen and some paper
- can be a bog-roll if need be.

Yeah, the problem isn't the tools. It's the tools who are using them.

And it absolutely isn't true either - there's great music coming out left and right all over the world each day - a lot more than anyone could ever listen to.

Actually I was comparing the craftmanship of the songs to the craftmanship of the hammer. I wasn't talking about making music with hammers. Only Einstürzende Neubauten does that.

I'm sure there is, somewhere, if you can find it amongst all the crap.

Have you ever heard the phrase, "a good craftsman doesn't blame his tools?" Yeah, maybe hammers were made better 30 years ago, but if they can still drive nails into wood, just get on with it and create what you set out to create.

You may think modern songwriting is bad, but it's not the tools at fault.
Indeed!

I'm not a musician, but I've designed sounds that others use to make music. http://soundcloud.com/obsidiananvil

Personally, I think the pop music charts are about as bad as they've ever been, but there was a lot of crap music on the pop charts for decades that we've just forgotten about due to time. Rose-tinted glasses and all...

I'm in my 40s now, and frankly, not many younger bands/artists speak to me, and the bands I grew up on are mostly off their creative peaks. But I'm sure people in their twenties feel the same way about younger contemporaries as I did twenty years ago about mine. And if not, these kids today have Spotify and easy access to most recorded music throughout history, which I never did. Music will be fine.

Whatever substance it is that you are on, it certainly doesn't do you any good.

ABSOLUTELY NOTHING in my reply hint at me understanding your sad little excuse for an analogy the way you seem for whatever wild reason to believe I did.

Exactly - but then there's all these gems all the time too - all the Sam Fenders and Alec Benjamins and Grace Vanderwaals and Sias still make it today.

It's an obvious fact that those of us who are satisfied with our own art don't do this sad lamenting thing as we do not perceive the products of others as a threat, how different to our own ones it may ever be.

There's really no better way to tell the public that you think you totally suck donkey's ball and have zero talent than to constantly whine how talentless every one else is.

Do you think it’s a free upgrade and safe to buy right now? Or should you wait until public beta for maybe some intro price? Looks amazing.

I personally cannot wait to get my hands on this plugin bundle and singlehandedly destroy modern music as we know it
Logic Pro | LUNA Pro | OB-X8 | Prophet 6 | OB-6 | Trigon 6 | Rev2 | TEO-5 | Pro 3 | SE-1X | Minitaur | Integra-7 | TR-1000 | Analog RYTM mk2 | Digitakt 2 | TD-3 MO | TD-3 | Maschine+

I'd like to check out that whole destruction of modern music as well. Be sure to post here with updates. It sounds better than my plan anyway.

Urs & Co. put so much thought into this plugin!
I have been looking forward to it.
It will take me a while to figure out how to use it musically, but it seems useful for minimal composition because you can do a lot with a little.

Just know that someone exactly like you said the same type of things when Bob Moog started releasing his synth modules.
