And once more. C'mon g200kg don't let us down. Is there too much to ask for export to svg?

Anyone out there besides me still using Skinman? I have files that I worked just a few days ago that now all of a sudden won't open. Skinman's panels open (blank) for a few seconds then everything closes. The .skin files have apparently become corrupt - but I haven't touched them since last opened. I have had this happen MANY times on many different projects - some that I backed up now won't open. I've had to re-create them from scratch.
Anyone else come across this problem and know the cause/fix? The file sizes look correct/similar to projects that DO open so apparently something is corrupting these files.
I'm on Windows 10 using Skinman version 0.101 (last/latest AFAIK)

i have not yet experienced this - but as i get it, skinman is dead. it's a real shame that g200kg doesn't keep up the development. i moved on to inkscape, which can do the same and more - and also the antialiasing algorithm is of way higher quality. it is free - but not as intuitive.Fender19 wrote: Mon Apr 17, 2023 8:50 pm Anyone out there besides me still using Skinman? Try to open the .skin files with a text editor (e.g. Notepad++) to check if they are damaged.Fender19 wrote: Mon Apr 17, 2023 8:50 pm Anyone out there besides me still using Skinman? I have files that I worked just a few days ago that now all of a sudden won't open.
They have mostly readable text lines and some unreadable graphic content and start with an empty line and "[Skin]" and end with "[End]"

Yes, I did check the files with Notepad++ and they seem to be missing entire sections. For example, the header in one project says there are 35 objects but then scrolling down I see that it jumps from [Obj00010] to [Obj00015] with less than 35 objects total. Whatever else is missing apparently keeps the file from opening at all.WOK wrote: Tue Apr 18, 2023 10:55 amTry to open the .skin files with a text editor (e.g. Notepad++) to check if they are damaged.Fender19 wrote: Mon Apr 17, 2023 8:50 pm Anyone out there besides me still using Skinman? So somehow the files are getting corrupted by something. I have projects that I backed up in multiple places at the time they worked and now none of them open. I even tried to load older versions of the projects that I had saved and they do not open either. So, it seems Skinman itself may be corrupting the files on attempting to load/open them, IDK. This hasn't happened to every project (thankfully!) so it's baffling.

This software is quite old (by targetver.h OS = Vista) so, I'd try to update it for Windows 10/11 by compiling the project with VS2019 or newer (some modifications may be needed to do). Project GitHub page: https://github.com/g200kg/SkinMan

Will try these suggestions - thank you.WOK wrote: Wed Apr 19, 2023 4:21 pm Maybe try to set Skinman to run in "Compatibility Mode" for Windows 7. Also check that in the program folder and the folder with all the data full access rights are set. Run it as an admin and maybe disable Antivir progs for it.
