Picked this up last night. Pretty cool. He fixed a couple odd bugs I had with the original Big Clipper. This has a lot of options for tone shaping and distortion. I'm still wrapping my head around the way the distortion circuit works.
Anyone else grab this?

I'm curious about it, but never used the version 1.
I did read some nice comments about the previous version, most of them saying how transparent the clipping was, but to me it seems more like a plugin with character. I can't demo until next week.
What do you think about it when comparing to other similar plugins ?

Version 1 was kind of a clipper with a limiter and you could change the order and how they functioned. Version two seems to do away with the limiter and replaces it with a variable distortion circuit that can also be in multiple different orders with the clipper. At it's most basic function, with the distortion settings set to zero, it is a two band clipper. You can hard or soft clip either band. I never found it to be transparent (v1 or V2), but it does something standard clippers don't do. Honestly, I'm still trying to play with the distortion a bit more to see how it would work in my setup. I generally use clippers on snare drum mostly (real drums, not samples). The new Little Clipper "may" be all I need but it's interesting playing with the possibilities.

They still have Push and Pull - pretty sure the Pull is the limiter aspect.

Pull sets the threshold for the clipper, from what I understand.

I did read a lot of things here and there, saying how transparent is Big Clipper. I did demo the little clipper and didn't find anything particular : it's cool but I don't need just a cool clipper (I need a better clipper).
TDR Limiter sounds better, the free Kazrog clipper sounds similar. Then there's the features of the Big Clipper, but there's no demo, no video, no manual available, and I'm also a bit fed up with devs that take centuries to update their stuff and are so disorganized with their offering : I bought Transgressor some time ago, it was never updated and I guess I will have to buy an upgrade to a new version in order to use it in a native Apple Silicon session. It doesn't inspire confidence...

Anybody know when the intro sale ends? [edit: May 18]
I personally use Little Clipper all the time, so fast and easy when i need to shave a few dB off a snare or whatever. I also own kClip which is more 'high def' but I like the simple Push Pull workings of the Boz clippers. I like plugins that are fast to use. Need to stay in the flow

I bought Big Clipper a few months ago, and I was disappointed by the fact that the support to Apple silicon didn't come. But at least, Boz Digital allowed me to upgrade to Big Clipper 2 for free.

I've never spoken an ill word about Boz on any forums ever (that I'm aware of) and I don't get the e-mails either.sqigls wrote: Sun Apr 23, 2023 2:23 am no i never get Boz emails.

Don't worry, you're probably on several 3-letter blacklists but BOZ ain't one of 'em.
A well-behaved signature.
