I think his 'As the Veneer of Democracy Starts to Fade' LP was one of the first really 'out there' LPs I bought when I was trying to expand my listening habits as a teenager. Hated it. 
But it must have sown seeds and all that, appreciated it a lot more when I went back to it a few years later.
