The CPU usage is interesting. (the Virus is as well come to think of it)
If you right click and set the latency to 0 (CPU reflects accurately) do you find the CPU gets pinned? BUT.. looking at TaskManager, I can't find any one CPU that's maxed.

Wow - just wow! Thanks to all who worked on this, and also to the person who did the video on how to install it.
I'm not too proficient with this stuff, but except for a couple minor snags,
everything is up and running like it should be as a vst3 in Cubase Pro 12 on Win 11.
Hope this isn't being too hoggy, but is that Osirus vst working for people? I tried to download that, but just got a 'serious error' crash in Cubase, so deleted it.
Without having what's needed to get it going spoon fed to me, I doubt I'd get it working, but it seems like a cool project too.
Thanks for Varva.

Join the discord. Everything you need is there. Also, maybe try the Virus B/C instead of Osiris. Most people believe those sound better than the TI.

OK - I gave it another try, and holy shit! - it works, and it sounds great.
Although I've had many hardware versions of the Virus, I never saved any of the sounds when I sold them.
As soon as I found a rom file to stick in there, everything is hunky dory.
This thread has really made my day. Thanks to all you geeks.
Uncle E: I'm not a programmer, and have very limited knowledge about computers, so I don't think I'd have much input for a beta program.
I play a few instruments, and occasionally try writing some music, but that's about as far as it goes with me.
I'm very glad there are people who know about this stuff though.

On each new startup, Vavra is loading all the sounds from zero - all the A,B and C banks, which is a bit time consuming. Is there any workaround or is it just the beta nuisance? The Osirus emulation does not do that, it loads with factory bank fully loaded.

Place all banks except your preferred startup bank in a subfolder.

Doesn't matter - on plugin reload it still starts to load the sounds from scratch even if there is only one bank sitting in the VST3 folder alongside the VST3 file. Mb it's because there are no sounds in original MQ 2.23 OS and it has to be like this, however my real MicroQ never did that, it was starting up with sounds fully loaded.Uncle E wrote: Sun Apr 23, 2023 7:07 am Place all banks except your preferred startup bank in a subfolder.
Btw, as an owner of actual real hardware Waldorf MicroQ I can confirm that to my ears this emulation sounds the same - not "really very, very ultra super close", but perfectly the same. Waldorf could have made millions, if they came up with this idea themselves.

That's because it's not an emulation but the original Software running...

You need to be posting on the beta page in Discord really, that’s where the devs hang out!
X32 Desk, i9 PC, S88MK3, S1, BWS, Live + PUSH 3, Osmose, RedShift 6 Pro3, Tempera, Syntakt, Digitone II, OP1-F, OPXY, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!

the output level is very low. the amp volume on full and it is only half as loud as other plugins i use, including Osirus (for example).
is that happening for others, and is that expected?

Same as the Virus B/C emulation, identical to the hardwareSouledOut wrote: Sun Apr 23, 2023 7:40 am Btw, as an owner of actual real hardware Waldorf MicroQ I can confirm that to my ears this emulation sounds the same - not "really very, very ultra super close", but perfectly the same. I believe Waldorf (and Access etc) were offered this as a commercial co-venture by the devs, but they had no interest. It does seem surprising (even more so for Access) as it does seem like it would be 'money for nothing' as the ROMS are already written and don't generate any revenue without an emulator.

Yes - output level is low. Don't know if that's normal or not.JamminFool wrote: Sun Apr 23, 2023 9:45 am the output level is very low. the amp volume on full and it is only half as loud as other plugins i use, including Osirus (for example).

@felis, thanks. i was wondering if there was something wrong with my install or (?), as i hadn't seen anyone else mention it in this thread. it's really noticeable when you run Vavra side by side with Osirus.
