Hi all, I want to buy my first analog synth just to get a taste of it.

I make R&B and trap most of the time and pop sometimes.
I love making bass sounds with soft synths and my favorite types are Reese and 808. But of course, I want to program all types of sounds.
I learned Pigments very well and know the functions and features of many soft synths so I think I will be familiar with the analog device too. I prefer a polyphonic synth.

I don't have a large area, I will put the analog synth on the desk I have, I have space where I can fit something about 35cm wide.

My budget is around $1000. I don't think I can go above that amount.

What would you recommend?

Edit: I don't have an idea how I connect to my DAW and sync it. I have Presonus 1824c as the interface and I use Studio One. So, help me about it if you can, thanks.

How about the Dreadbox Nymphes? 6 voice polyphony, about 24 centimeters wide, and about $450 USD. It can be used with a MPE controller for increased expressive capabilities. See the links in my signature for more details. If you prefer, Sweetwater does sell the Dreadbox Nymphes as well.

I am assuming you do not need a keybed. If you do, the smallest keybed size is 25, and the ones I know are over 35 centimeters.

Your in luck. Right now there is an explosion of analogue synths on the market!
Something small to fit in your space - you still have many, many options.
A couple of synths that interest me at the moment are the Dreadbox Erebus

no, i just have one.
one big modular made up of lots of little ones

i did say, dont buy "yet". id try a few out in the shop first.
even a low cost poly, is a decent amount of money for a taste

I suggest an analog mono synth... Uno Synth Pro for example is quite good and takes up minimal space depending which version you get.

Yea, 35cm is pretty small, but you could probably get a decent stand and and Erebus for less than 1,000.

That is pretty cool, but 3DWaves does sell a 3D-printed stand for the Nymphes. You can purchase it on Reverb for $36 USD.

Well, he mentioned making R&B and prefering a poly synth, that's a clear direction.
I guess Behringer is the place to look at. They should have something analog, compact, polyphonic and on a budget.

Not many polyphonic Behringers that I can think of. The Poly D (paraphonic?), the MonoPoly, the Deepmind. All way bigger than 35cms.
With or without keyboard is crucial here. Maybe the Deepmind module if you can make a bit more space.
If you can accept Virtual Analog you would have more options. Have a look at the Modal Cobalt 8M.

Unfortunately the dimensions are too wide, at 384mm, AKA 38.4 centimeters. Pretty close, but no cigar.
