It looks cool, and has some interesting features like the battery or the random patch creation, but given the vast variety of synths out there, especially with way more features, i don't see a reason to buy it.

Good to see besides the typical usual naysaying it seems to be a hit. Baby audio make great products so I’m probably buying it without even seeing the demo. I’m 100% OK with simple synths of what the do sounds great, and nothing Baby does sounds bad.

I don't understand why developers insist on using the HW paradigm for synth GUIs. Not all of us are 50 and grew up with HW.

There's so many more intuitive ways to interact with an ON SCREEN synth.
40 identical looking sliders in a row is not one. :/

I'm gonna try it because generally BA makes stuff that sounds ok (i never bought anything yet from them because nothing special enough came along), but the approach is a major turn off for me.
I much prefer shit like Twin3 - go bold, rustle some jimmies, do shit different.

Not as much of an evolution as it was marketed as, its pretty simple but has still got more features that what it modelled

I think it's just a reference to the name of the original hardware.

On the contrary, I'm betting it works great with touch screens, that's a concern of mine.
I'm 100% about space between faders, and faders over knobs unless the knobs behave like glorified faders.

Also, just a reminder for some of you -
It's easy to just cram in options and features.
It is harder (and IMO also the proper way to do it) to select what features really matter.

I personally have gone from using the most complicated setup, using modulars for everything, to only use "simple" synths these days. Makes more sense to me. (I still use modulars if there's no other way)

Also i don't have a week to spend making a preset, going through a million options and then deciding between A/B/C/D etc. I rather save my energy for the actual music.

I checked it out, it sounds nice and has some nice synthwave and synth pop style presets. CPU usage is also very well managed!

You just gave a really good one - most synths have way too many features you have to wade through. This is refreshingly simple, which makes it much easier to work with, but it also sounds really good. That should allow you to get high quality results more easily which, for $49, seems like a bargain to me.

I do - it works! No point in reinventing the wheel. In my SynthEdit days I tried all manner of GUI ideas but the ones that always worked best were the familiar ones. e.g. I'd much rather adjust an envelope with knobs and sliders than an editable graphical envelope.

How is that any better? It looks like a dog's breakfast to me, like they were determined to make it look different, not to improve usability. Just look at how much more compact BA-1 is, that's way more important to me than anything I see in Twin 3's UI.

It looks pretty limited in both controls and sound palette. I might think of buying at the sale price, though I am slightly underwhelmed.

I was at first but the circuit bending seems pretty cool and it's not as limited as the original as it has an extra OSC, FM and polyphony so I can see this being fun - the simplicity makes it immediate but it looks like it's not as simple as it first appears
