I don’t think it would make much sense to develop this synth more, but the sound is pretty good and interesting. I could see them do another one, though. Something a bit more robust.j wazza wrote: Wed Apr 26, 2023 5:32 am it sounds good and a bit different from other synths, I bought it but hope they develop it more, this could be the start of a really great synth if they add more features like a unison voice number/detuning, more oscs for fm etc, drag and drop modulation

I'm hoping for either updates, an upgraded version or a different synth, i get that the point of this one is to be small and simple, which is good sometimes but its quite limited atm. If I could add 1 thing to this synth, it would be an easy way to add lots of detuned unison voices. This synth would sound great with that imo cos it already sounds fatzerocrossing wrote: Wed Apr 26, 2023 6:10 amI don’t think it would make much sense to develop this synth more, but the sound is pretty good and interesting. So many people completely missing the strongest point of this synthesizer.
Please do not add anything more.
If you don't hear the magic, fine. There's a million other synths out there with a million features you can play with.
I hope more streamlined synths follow along the lines of the BA-1.

The synth is fine as it is, simple and pure. Simplicity is way too underrated these days!

If they expand version 2 while still keeping this version, no one would lose anything. Simple is good for workflow, but it leads to samey, boring sound design. A pro version would give people the choice between easy workflow and more interesting sound design.

Or they could leave this just as it is (OfCourse maintenance updates are important) and make a new synth altogether. Maybe they could improve on this version by adding unison and maybe oversampling, but I wouldn't want them to add more osc's and all that stuff.j wazza wrote: Wed Apr 26, 2023 8:29 am If they expand version 2 while still keeping this version, no one would lose anything. So you'll be happy when it is exactly like every other synth in your VSTi folder? Great.j wazza wrote: Wed Apr 26, 2023 5:32 am it sounds good and a bit different from other synths, I bought it but hope they develop it more, this could be the start of a really great synth if they add more features like a unison voice number/detuning, more oscs for fm etc, drag and drop modulation

The good news is it’s a huge hit (for us, it’s been the bestselling Baby Audio product so far) so another synth is sure to come.

great news! This is already an excellent sounding synth that competes in terms of sound quality with the big VAs like diva and omnisphere. If the features were up there with those two, it could be one of my favourite synthsUncle E wrote: Wed Apr 26, 2023 2:07 pm The good news is it’s a huge hit (for us, it’s been the bestselling Baby Audio product so far) so another synth is sure to come.
A simple subtractive synth is going to sound similar to everything else, a more complex one can sound different. You seem to think the opposite, but having less features than everything else isn't going to make it sound unique.BONES wrote: Wed Apr 26, 2023 9:54 amSo you'll be happy when it is exactly like every other synth in your VSTi folder? Virtual shop. Almost *all* software is sold from shops, whether it's the developer's own shop (their website), or whether it's an online store like JRR, PluginBoutique, AudioPluginDeals, or whether it's a real physical store that also sells online (eg Sweetwater).
Occasionally also from real physical stores - though they seem to be declining at an alarming rate. First music software I ever bought was from my local music store... but not so much nowadays of course (and almost all my local music stores have gone now.)

yeah I meant stores that are not 1) directly the manufacturer, 2) plugin boutique or 3) plugin alliance. First time hearing of JRR I tought it was geared more towards hardware.beely wrote: Wed Apr 26, 2023 2:22 pmVirtual shop.
